Unpopular Music Opinions

Wow, that Wiki link was eye-opening. I am liking this forum more and more already. But, for banRAB I could do without, Puddle of Mudd.... never understood that one, but thats the beauty of music, to each his own.

Who?

Last album I've heard very negative things about but OOS is great and Absolution is quite good too.

I think I like Colour and the Shape more than any Muse album.

To be honest I wrote that point absolutely incorrectly. I'd rather have someone ignore anything that is mainstream and listen only to less popular stuff that they really like than have someone just listen to the radio and not develop a music taste of their own. If they are listening to less popular music that they don't like, then they can go **** themselves. The fact of today is though, most mainstream music sucks. Enough said. I'd love for anyone to try to convince someone that likes music enough to be on a music forum that any more than 1/10th of those songs, if that, deserve to be in the top 100 songs. That's why, at least for me, I can safely say I tend to not like mainstream stuff. Not to be cool, because it sucks. And yes, lots of indie music is completely ****. No one in the world would deny that.

Also, I know what rap is... Lil' Wayne has a flow, whether you like it or not, there are very few actual famous rappers that do not have a flow at all.

I dig the Talking HeaRAB and Wire, though I'm not sure liking either is all that strange.

As for unpopular picks (or at least uncool), I have to admit that I love ABBA: Incredible hooks/melodies, underrated production values, just the quintessential pop band.

And if you listen to songs such as "Under Attack" or "The Day Before You Came", there's no doubt they could have been an excellent synthpop band had they stayed together/gone that route in the '80s.

I still don't agree that thinking they suck is a particularly popular opinion. I'm not a fan of them myself, but they sure make a lot of "best of" lists and sell a lot of albums for a band that, according to boo boo, is so widely reviled.

Yes.

Did I miss something? As far as I know, these all fall under my description. At least the power and symphonic tags. Also, I'm sure the 'sweedish','finish', and most of the 'celtic' tags are the same artists as some of the power/symphonic/viking metal tags.

oooh, mmk. because most of the ppl i kno bash the flaming lips. but i personally think they have a very narrow, crappy oppinion on what "good" music is. but its all good.

im glad to know that the people on this forum like the flaming lips as much as i do:)

I don't think I disliked them as such, I just don't think they grabbed me and kept my attention. :( When it comes to Metal I find myself drifting in and out of albums. I'll give Pentagram's first album another couple of listens.
I still have 2 of Loathsome's album recs to listen to. It's obviously not a bad genre, I'm just having a hard time finding something I really like. I do have a few Metal albums, but not nearly enough.

Noel isn't a twat, maybe in 1997 when he thought they were the best band going. The only thing that really pisses me off about them is they say around the time they were making music (1994-1997) the music scene was barren, there was nothing about. There clearly was. Liam is a cock that neeRAB to fuck off, he says he doesn't want anyone wearing his clothes and people say well "beggars can't be choosers" he's selling shit jackets for

Indeed, Under Pressure will never be the best material from either Bowie or Queen, but damn, Ice Ice Baby... come on... and it was just the bassline that got ripped off, wasn't it?
