I think that aside from a few banRAB like Radiohead, Porcupine Tree, Muse, etc. The british rock scene is really pitiful right now. The Libertines, Art Brut, The Kooks, Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party. Pretty awful stuff.
Arctic Monkeys are one of the better new banRAB to come around and they're not really that great but because decent british banRAB have become such a rarity people have to hype the sh*t out of them.
Hell even Muse are starting to suck.
I guess after 4 decades of awesomeness the brits had to go downhill eventually.
I don't think that last one is too unpopular, I think most people just don't want to admit it. I skip a bit of London Calling when I listen to it. Most double albums are that way.
it's because the originators of the style made conscious choices to eschew the ostentatious behavior of the **** rock stars that preceded them and made the decision to stand relatively motionless while performing. generally just staring downward toward their instrument (or their shoes). the amount of pedals is an ancillary detail.
and math rock is prog for nerRAB who don't want to be associated with prog. same as how 'indie' is absolutely nothing more than 'alt-rock' for my little cousins.
Sure, my first guess was f uck, but it could have been f ucking too. Just clarifying. It helps to alter the word rather than just letting the site completely blank it out.
I've heard people say that they can't listen to some noise rock because it phsyically hurts their ears but this is the first time its been called a contradiction in my presense....
i do appreciate Love Will Tear Us Apart but i find the rest to be very inaccessible. i know a lot of people here will rip me apart for this, but hey, that's the theme of the thread, eh?
