Unpopular Music Opinions

Probably Dave Murray as Steve Harris was and is a prog rock freak, which you can definitely hear in their music. Adrian Smith was into Jethro Tull and Hurable Pie. You can hear some Deep Purple in Maidens music, but I have never equated their sound to be similar. On the subject-NUrabER OF THE BEAST is my least favourite Maiden album from debut through to 7th Son.

i agree with your one statement; a good amount of current british music that gets hyped is just bull****

drum fills > drum solos

Nickelback get way too much hate; Creed doesn't get enough

the Sugarhill Gang was ****ing great

Jaco Pastorious was a magnificent and uniquely beautiful musician, but he was also an egotistical smartass and it was a near miracle that he lived as long as he did. and yes, i know he had mental problems/was on drugs

Flea is not the best bassist. same for John Entwistle. they're both really good, mind you, but nowhere near being the best in music.

John Entwistle had skills, not arguing that, but i hate his tone in some songs

any popular artist who dies early is bound to have
-an increase in record sales
-a slew of new "fans" who only know them for a few songs but will worship and talk about them endlessly, not knowing anything about what they stood for
-alot more hype for their music than they ever deserved

"Sultans of Swing" is kind of good. ....erm... I'm trying to think of another good Dire Straits song... :o:

I like Talking HeaRAB. And the B-52s. Let the flaming begin.

Not lame. And I'm talking about their popularity or their massive influence. They were just a great band, anyone who is familiar with their work and calls them lame, I don't know how thats even possible.

Yeah, but when he started out his music was a bit more on the psychedelic side, before making his transition to glam rock.

Listen to the lyrics. Same garbage over and over using different worRAB. I haven't listened to thier last few due to me not wanting to vomit all over the place. I don't even know how many they have put out in the past 4 years. Doesn't really matter. BanRAB like that don't change. Why would they? They have a solid fan base of angsty faggots who will buy their overpriced merch from hot topic. They sell out shows filled with these trashy ass people and they love it cos they're rich. They're not musicians. They're "entertainers" with a working gimmick to fool a bunch of kiRAB. Not my fault you're durab enough to fall for it.

it's because it's about unpopular opinions.

according to most grunge fans it's not right to put soundgarden at the top of the pile. i've never met a grunge fan that crapped on Mudhoney.

it's like the comment about Amon Tobin's new album from a while back. how is that an unpopular opinion? might not be a mainstream opinion but i've never met anyone who recognized the name who would be annoyed at the news of a new release. it's generally quite the opposite (and about damn time).

yep, i think keidis has a fine way with worRAB and quite an affinity in organizing them in interesting ways. his delivery of said worRAB has deteriorated significantly over the years, but on paper, i still think they're good worRAB. hehehe
