tbh, some people may find it ironic (or for some, deserved) that alot of these deathcore banRAB list groups like Korn and Limp Bizkit as main influences, hehe.
I can't see why people go on about Hendrix being the greatest guitar player ever. I mean their are other people who could outplay him, like Jimmy Page, Kirk Hammet, **** Dale, Stevie Ray Vaughan, David Gilmour, and Angus Young. Just my opinion.
I can sort of see how you would think that, though. Their music is really out there. I love it though. It gets to me, and inspires me. I like the whole sound and feel, and it's catchy as hell (One Armed Scissor, Invalid Litter Dept).
WHAT?
London Calling should be higher. 7 isn't good enough! :usehead:
i suppose if you want to look at it from a genre perspective(and i agree post-rock is a pretty nondescript genre). i think the idea of 'genres' is good in the planning phase, but we have failed in our methoRAB categorize music on a general scale. but from a musical perspective, like you said, they are polar opposites. thus, i maintain that a fair comparison can't be made.
No-one said Off The Wall being better than Thriller and Bad was an unpopular opinion, that was just part of the resulting discussion. The unpopular opinion was that Bad was better than Thriller.
Dylan's lyrics PERFECTLY fit his music. He is one of the few artists, that has utilised the lyric as having as much importance as the song itself. I am not a big Dylan fan, but i appreciate greatly his contribution to modern music. Have a listen to LIKE A ROLLING STONE. The opening snare beat opened up rock music everywhere. It was different.
I thought I'd shock everyone by telling that I don't like Led Zep.
But then I read this:
And now I'm confused.
Overhere it's really not a safe thing to say amongst music enthusiasts.
Apparently led zep did something right.
But I can't stand the guys voice and the music sounRAB well... uninteresting, to me.
Probably another onpopular one here: Yes I like dire straits.
too early to rank the 00s too. give it some time. and ranking decades seems kind of durab. who can really claim to have a solid grasp on everything from a particular decade?
Nice to see you still don't look at the full arguement Boo Boo.
I beleive I covered what I hated musically about RATM in my first post , then the arguement turned to their political message so I gave my opinion on that.
But naturally you read the political posts and assume thats why I hate the band totally ignoring their music. Much in the same way you ignore everything I say about U2 putting the same boring album out about 6 times choosing to take a flippent comment about a hat or about Bono's mullet as the sole reason I hate U2.
Seriously if you are going to take the time out to berate me on such things at least read the whole thing.
