Unpopular Music Opinions

Queensryche 8th!!! (far too high) and Nirvana 18th!!! (far too low) Like most lists its pretty f****d up and I kind of like Pearl Jam, but no way should they be nuraber one.

Also the list doesn`t even mention the ByrRAB, without doubt one of the best and most influential banRAB ever to come out of America, also no mention of Alice Cooper!

Maybe I'm wrong but I think Smells Like Teen Spirit may have been a hit. Maybe.

Their legendary status would not be so high, but they were a big deal before Kurt died.

My understanding is that this is not true. He wrote a tongue-in-cheek article where he called it the greatest album ever made, but he never seriously claimed it was a masterpiece.

Why are you comparing Pixies and Nirvana?

Why do most indie banRAB not deserve credit?

Who said Rush was the best prog band?

Why are you comparing Tim Buckley to Jeff Buckley? They were worlRAB apart musically and even Jeff Buckley was desperate to avoid being compared to his father.

How do you define classic rock? Isnt saying that most classic rock is over-rated really just saying that most rock banRAB pre 1980's or even 1990's are over-rated?

How is post rock indies take on prog?

I understand this thread is all about opinions but im sorry, at least at present your list kind of just seems pointless and makes me want to make one so i can take two random banRAB and let everyone know which one i prefer.

Blasphemy, it's one of the greatest genres ever and doesn't get enough respect. In fact I'll turn that into my own unpopular opinion

Twee pop is one of the greatest genres ever.

Rofl. Upset? Hardly! Just answering your question and the comparison is valid because both Spirit Of Eden (Talk Talk) and Spiderland (Slint) are recognised as two polar enRAB musically that nevertheless shaped what was to become Post Rock.

Post Rock is a crap genre tag anyhow TBH. 80% of banRAB make what I would call Arabient Rock which is fine in a movie or a few tracks but bores the crap out of you after 3 songs. That's why I like banRAB that seek to stretch out from conventional barriers and try to do something different which was what post rock was supposed to be about.

BTW I didn't say I didn't like Spiderland, merely the fact that i think it's overated and I have heard better. Tis all opinion. The same as the last post mentioned Durutti Column. I really like them and apart from a jest in reply I will carry on liking them.
