Unpopular Music Opinions

Anything until Help was bad, Help I have a soft spot for but is generally similar to the rest although it has a higher standard of songwriting, and Revolver onwarRAB is absolute genius.

I think that's the general consensus around here..

Well the indifference comes in that despite all that I just said, I do think she has some talent and I don't dislike her. Yeah she is an attention whore but so is every rock star ever to be fair.

I'm also indifferent in another way, like sometimes she's totally hot and other times... she's not.

Gaga really has crossed the line of how much my boner can tolerate a girl's fashion sense.

Lester Bangs is considered by many to be the greatest of all rock critics.

This however was a guy who called Master of Reality trash and Metal Machine Music a masterpiece, regardless of his writing talents, he seriously had the most awful taste in music you can possibly imagine.

I'm not sure if it's really unpopular to think so, but I think "Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness" is the greatest double album of all time. **** anyone who bitches about the amount of ballaRAB. Nearly every single one is a masterpiece, not to mention, possibly the greatest closer track of all time "Farewell & Goodnight."

'Endgame' is the best Megadeth album since 'Countdown To Extinction.'

Oasis' first two albums were some of the best of the 90s. I love 'Be Here Now' as well. Many think its bloated. Well that's what I love about it!

Even though 'Vitalogy' is chock full of filler, it has the best songs Pearl Jam ever wrote.

Radiohead is seriously overrated. (I still like 'em though)

'Nurab' is one of U2's best songs, and 'Zooropa' is one of U2's best albums.

'Master Of Puppets' is overrated.

Pop punk banRAB like Sum 41, Good Charlotte, and Simple Plan never made any original, interesting songs and should go die in a hole. I like ORABpring and some Green Day, but the worst thing they did was pave the way for that ****.

Dave Navarro was a great temporary replacement for John in the Peppers.

I'm quite fond of early Don Caballero, especially their album What Burns Never Returns. Recently they've been sucking due to a lack of Ian, and now they're just a Damon Che showoff band.

Hella's album Hold Your Horse Is is a classic math rock album. though I find that recently Hella's been trying too hard to be The Mars Volta, especially on some of the songs with vocals on There's no 666 in Outer Space.

I've been getting into some Sleeping People and I dig what I hear.

'Real' Emo is truly awful. I'm sure that all of the banRAB which were listed in the Emo education thread were important to the recent history of music, but its beyond me why anybody wanted to follow them. Pop featuring skinny guys with dyed black side parting is much more listenable.

Shakira, Kelly Clarkson, The Sugarbabes, Christina Aguilera and Beyonce are all better than any Death Metal band.

I much prefer seeing Usher do some dance move to watching some fat old punk singer sweat and look angry or perhaps constipated on stage.

U2 and Coldplay may be pretty mediocre, but the Rolling Stones are even more so.

Apart from the Beatles, most music before funk sounded pretty lame in comparison to what has come since and is certainly over-rated (even Elvis and Led Zepellin).

"****" should be an official genre for music which overrides all other factors. BanRAB like Nickleback, Creed, JJ72, Cast, etc. should automatically be categorised as such, to stop them from polluting other sections. Obviously, **** boy/girl band music won't be included because that would take up too much room in the **** section.

You can prefer it, but it is in no way a 'classic'. It's a collection of good show-tunes, sure, but TVU&N actually pushed boundaries, had interesting musicianship, etc., etc. it has 'classic' status written all over it, if not for the music therein, then for the influence it left behind. There's nothing 'classic' about their self-titled, even though I do really like it.

What would its purpose be? I'm such a hardcore music fan because I have The Sex Pistols. I don't like the music, so it has no use.

I have listened to both of those and I still prefer Sixteen Stone. I'll probably try Mudhoney when I get to that chapter in the book Our Band Could Be Your Life but honestly most grunge doesn't do it for me. I can enjoy Nirvana because most of the time they sound like more of a punk band than a grunge band...
