Unpopular Music Opinions

Your right because I didn't mention Michael Jackson, Prince, Vampire Weekend, a Gwen Stefani tune, The Smiths, to name a few. They're all UK music from the 60's/70's right?

I can't say I've heard exactly all of Beatles' songs but not so far, no. They're not awful 'cause they're big. Such an opinion would just be pretentious wankery. And perhaps I am a pretentious wanker but I'm not that much of a douche.

I can assure you that I know some people who don't like the Beatles. My brother being one example. (Although he's not really a credible source when it comes to music.)

When it comes to Mozart and Beethoven there's just something that annoys me about their music and a lot of classical music in general. I listen to some Modern Classical musicians but when it comes to the old masters, there's just something that makes me frustrated when hearing it.

Note: I'm not denying anyone's talents. That's another thing. I'd be quite an idiot to say that Beethoven was untalented. I'm talking music quality, personal preference.

They show flashes of eccentricity at times, like most banRAB do, but it usually just devolves into bluesy rock rif***e. Take Larks Tongues in Aspic for example, it's like stadium rock mixed with Comus, heavier on the former. I was expecting more technicality or experimentation but instead I heard more average prog fare. It's a product of their reputation I guess, everyone hypes them up to be the second coming and they can't possibly live up to it. I dont see the heavy jazz instrumentation or the baroque classics being incorporated as well as they are billed to be. I see alot of rock experimentation, but not the bridging of genres that they supposedly accomplished.

Oho, man, I actually like Audioslave. I really liked their first CD. The newer stuff I'm not a big fan of, but I believe Rage was way better. I don't see how anyone could dislike Audioslave, they're all great musicians, especially Chris Cornell. Rage, though, to me, was more like a group of guys on a mission to spread their ideas. They just happened to be in a band, and used the music in a very powerful way to get their message across.

Let's see here:
Blondie might be the best punk band ever
Black Sabbath=way overrated
The Beatles were like NSync when they came out

lol I seriously doubt they don't sound anything alike. BanRAB like that don't change. Plus whatever song they had for whatever video they made last sounded exactly what a korn song would sound like.

The stones gift was to play soulful music with actual soul. Anyone can experiment. Its hard to do music from all regions and influences and make them sound like legitimate songs.

Every time I hear the Beatles cover Motown I think "oh lord, Karoke is revenge for WWII" The Beatles wee talented but they couldn't feel the music and John Lennon was just about the most soulless writer out there. Its not bad music it just don't hit you somewhere deeper and his solo work was even worse which leaRAB me to believe someone in the Beatles was pulling the weight (I suspect Harrison.)

You can say what you want about the stones but I've heard Cherry O Baby and I've heard a Beatles sung covered by reggae singers and the authenticity behind the former was head and shoulders above the latter.

People don't wake up overrated and their no where near teh Beatles of Zeppelin or even the Who. The stones have earned everything they have, i wish people would see that you can't charge $400 for a ticket because you go lucky. Their untouchable live, and they can scorch every other band playing out there.

What songs are they? one would be of course Love Song, then there would be, whats the name of that song...Ill run away with you, "show me how you do that trick, the one that makes me scream sea sick", you know....what are some others I should listen to?

Bob Dylan's "Brownsville Girl" is a friggin' awesome song, and I will stand by it until the day I die. It's got cheezy production which I normally hate and ugly backing vocals, but I love that song.

It should be noted that that's not at all an unpopular opinion among hardcore Bob Dylan fans - most other people I've talked to who are also as much into Dylan as I am seem to share the sentiment - but among most people, it's considered one of the best examples of how much Bob Dylan sucked in the 80's. Of course, you'd have to be pretty messed up in the head to be as big of a Dylan fan as I am, and I freely admit that :D

The rest of Knocked Out Loaded is extremely terrible, though, and that's not an unpopular opinion to anybody.

aw I know, I guess I shoulda been listening to Genesis or Rush's discographies eh? Or Muse?

strangely enough our compatibility on last fm is "very high" ... I think I'm slightly ashamed of that, however it does make your previous post even more ridiculous.

It's not even the best concept album by The Who

*cough*
