Unpopular Music Opinions

Yea. I didn't hear about them until last year. My friend, Matt, was playing Communist Daughter during our Journalism class and I thought it sounded pretty damn good. So I bought Aeroplane and have been listening to them since.

I agree with what you're saying - definitely if you take everything that is referred to as indie, it's way way too broad to pigeonhole with such statements. However, I think that when proggies attack indie music, they're generally referring to the more kind of simple bare basics minimal guitar pop/rock style of the 90s and current decade. This they seem to consider as representing all (or almost all) indie - which needless to say, is wrong.

Agreed on the Nick Cave issue, but as for all of Mike Patton's side projects being crap- have you heard Lovage? It was a collaboration between him, Kid Koala, Dan the Automator and Jennifer Charles of Elsyian FielRAB. They released an album called "Music to Make Love to Your Old Lady By" and it is awesome.

I dunno if this is an unpopular opinion, but I don't like The Travelling Wilburys.

I know that its, like, the most epic supergroup eva! but with Dylan, Petty, Orbison, Lynne AND George Harrison, but I would have expected a little more than just what they put out.

Those are three of their first 5 albums...Like TL said, I'm interested in your explanation. No you don't "Have to justify yourself to fanboys" but it sure would be nice.

Anyone with true appreciation for Rock knows who Mountain is. Anyone who appreciates true talent (rock) has to start from the 60's. And EMO NEERAB SO BADLY TO DIE!!!
