Better than Dookie?! :eek:

I love Dookie, but American Idiot is second for me. I dunno why American Idiot gets stick, it was one of the first rock albums I got into, I'll still listen to it from time to time.
 
60's were a time of mega revolution in the music world
stuff changed a lot in the 70's but you also have a lot more crappy stuff starting to emerge
kinda moot since they're both tremendous but yah my two cents

just because it was a decade of one-hit-wonders and pop charts doesn't mean it wasn't awesome musically
think about all of the stuff that came to the forefront of the underground
early on you have the continuation of hardcore punk and post-punk and as the decade progresses we end up with industrial
some damn good metal albums released in the first half of that decade, too

again with the monetary success = high quality bullsh‎it? every time someone says that i want to go to their house and punch them in the face until they stop being stupid

also you can be a showman without being arrogant/being a complete as‎shole
 
On the Zoo TV tour, as part of the concept, Bono would dress up as different characters based on Achtung Baby. SounRAB pretty gimmicky if you ask me, but I've heard that the tour was fantastic.
