Unpopular Music Opinions

Ravi Shankar and Phillip glass both collaborated together thats why I compared them.

I admit the Yes and Led Zeppelin comparison was a bit random.

I don't like rap, blues, metal or reggae Sorry for writing off those genres. Mind you I have listened to alot of rap, blues and reggae, metal. To me those genre are bad.. Also I wasn't being objective i was being subjective.

Never said all indie banRAB are crap, stop putting worRAB in my mouth.

Well, yeah we agree the lyrics are stronger. As a total effort, I still go with Machina II. And yes, Billy doesn't like Adore. He has said recently that since fans have warmed up to it, he has been able to as well but is still disappointed with the outcome since it wasn't the direction he was really hoping to go in.

I will always go with Darcy on bass. The SP bass player has never really been a big deal, so for me it's all about the look. She definitely had the look. Ginger was a bit too...I dunno...cute for my tastes. As for Teargarden...it is showing waaay more promise than Zeitgeist, but the spark just isn't there anymore. Then again, only one EP out of a whole **** load has come out, so I will reserve total judgment until a few more see the light of day.

It is all still variants of the same theme. Have you ever heard of these banRAB?:

Cubanate
Frontline Asserably.
Wumpscut.
Front 242.?

"Wild Honey Pie" perhaps? I can see that being the one. Other than that, there's even "Martha My Dear" (Paul writing a cheesy song for his Sheepdog!) as well as the regular "Honey Pie." Despite having some of Paul's best rockers, The Beatles/While Album does have some strong cases for those who have some heavy criticisms about Paul. Still, note for note, I just listen to the whole thing anyways (On vinyl...on bad days, I just skip "Martha..." which starts off Side Two and play on).

Yeah and we've been arguing what these past few posts? Oh thats right, about the lyrics, the worRAB themselves. Aside from that folk isn't about being neat, if you want neat go listen to Jessica Simpson.

Enough to decide that it doesn't do anything for me. Talk Talk and Slint are generally classed as the forerunners of Post Rock and I much prefer the experimental slant that Talk Talk had. Their Jazzy overtones lead me to banRAB like Maudlin Of The Well and Kayo Dot who are quite simply different class and a perfect example of what Post Rock is about.

Maybe it is because the only grunge banRAB I have really listened to are the big ones (Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice), but Sixteen Stone is simply an awesome album IMO...

He was boring. If he wrote his parts in pantera songs then I'm still gonna say he was some ****. Solo, metal riff shred lather rinse repeat. ****'s dead and lame like it was back then.
