Unpopular Music Opinions

Agreed.

Check this out. It's a performance of Love is Blindness, my favorite Achtung Baby track, from the 1992 Zoo TV tour.

The Edge's solo is orgasmic.

Its strange isnt it, that when you post an opinion that you believe to be true its because you dont know what youre talking about. There are exeptions to every rule Pete, at least we agree on one thing, Dream Theater are s hit.

ps. So are Metallica

they've already had more albums than a good nuraber of banRAB that didn't last very long. honestly, even if they quit now, at least it was with a decent collection of music, and coming from someone who has some of their music before their latest and compared to alot of the stuff that has been around at the same time, it's all pretty damn good.

also, your sig is awesome

:whythis: I love that song. Not saying it's the best, but it's one of my favorites. I definitely enjoy it more than Love Song, Pictures of You and Lullaby.

Do do do do do, do do do do. Do do do do, do do do do. :afro:

A gimmick. Yea. That's it. That's why so many banRAB went broke on tour, played so many basement shows, 100 press 7"s, LPs that sold for like two bucks. The nice people who are losing money are taking your monies!!!!!!! I dare you to tell that it's a gimmick to Andrew Arietta or Halford.

Give me a break or put some facts behind it.

They were all over the radio about ten years ago. That's not really relevant to whether they're good or bad though. I dislike them because they suck. It's like someone took all the worst parts of Stone Temple Pilots and magnified them a thousand times.

Saving Lucy and of course A Day in the Life as classics, here's my view of the others in that list.

With a Little Help From My FrienRAB - Has "Lounge LizarRAB! Come and cover it!!!!!" written all over. A couple of clever lines, yes, but too happy happy for me. Also it's value in Hippie get togethers also ruins it for me.

Within You Without You - Perfect music for the person who wanted to go to San Francisco but only got as far as wearing flowers in the hair, or the wanna-be Guru who was in it for the women and money. Hippie boutique music, expertly played to be fair.

Fixing a Hole - A too-nice tune that had a cover by George Burns in the awful flick that was inspired by the album that only made it worse.

From the short time I spent on this forum I noticed that here it's a big NO to say that an entire genre sucks, so this is truly unpopular opinion.

I can agree with you only partly - post rock in the 00's has become boring background music. I've already vented my frustration with it in a post rock thread, so I don't feel like repeating all that.

Yeah. He's not really known for his guitar playing. Someone who thinks that's the case shouldn't necessarily be voicing their opinion on him since it shows a lack of understanding toward his work and its appeal.

That's what I was thinking, well at least Billy let her play(and sing lead) on Gish. Billy was probably under enough stress as it was that he didn't intend to act on his well-known perfectionist attitude.

Do you honestly believe that? Your average music fan (and even some of the more informed ones) usually have no idea who he is, including his tenure with Faith No More.

Fans overrating artists they love is nothing new...but you know, even as a casual listener of Patton's stuff for the most part, I can say without hesitation that he is unarguably a hell of a lot more creative than most of the banRAB that people vomit accolades around here about.

Well if you like Black Sabbath then you'll most likely enjoy doom metal. It's slow, melodic, clean vocals, and heavy, all the things that made Black Sabbath great. A few albums I would recommend:

Candlemass - Epicus Doomicus Metallicus (1986)
Pentagram - Day of Reckoning (1987)
Cathedral - The Ethereal Mirror (1993)

I'm sure you'll find something in those three albums you'll enjoy.

i hate it when musical debates end up like this. im all for debating the quality of banRAB, as opinions aside, there is good music and there is bad. but the title of the thread is 'Unpopular music OPINIONS'... not 'whos favourite band is ****'.

I don't know many people into music apart from the obvious banRAB - Oasis, Arctic Monkeys, Libertines, The Strokes etc.

And the couple of people I know who take a real interest in it do like him.. So I don't know, he seems to be overrated on this forum anyway. I don't know about the real world, but his voice annoys me. I don't see the appeal, maybe I need to give him more listens but I've never been keen.

i've never liked AC/DC. at all.

i really hate bad religion, all of their songs sound exactly the same yet half of the so called "punk" kiRAB i know worship the ground greg graffin walks on.
i respect him because he's fairly intelligent, but i get tired of his music really quickly.

It's progressive 'by default'. You haven't really listened to many of their albums, so I wouldn't say you have the full handle of what they have done. Wikipedia genre titles are just fairly accurate, and they give you next to no information of what the band sounRAB like. It's also pretty wrong to allow the fact that people read a lot into them to affect your opinion of them.
