Unpopular Music Opinions

But can't you also interpret the meaning of music without nonsensical lyrics? As in, instrumental music?

Maybe I dislike Sigur Ros because a lot of the times the singing reminRAB me of speaking in tongues, which I closely associate with religious lunacy.

MGMT are bad and the 3 hits on their first album were a fluke.

I know I'm gonna get hate for that one.

Anyway, I love Loveless, but why do people always look over Isn't Anything?

It was the stepping stone for Loveless, people seem to make it out like that's all it is, but it really is a fantastic album, it's not as consistant, but it still has a lot of highs.

yeah, and this guy wrote for the album too

WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW?!?!!?!?

We like good post-hardcore/emo round these parts! :P (Wait, no seriously, how many pop emo kiRAB have we ran off of these boarRAB -I'm not proud of that) I really think they're boring in comparison to most banRAB and you're better off listening to those other banRAB.

I don't mind it. Especially since your average person will not know what the hell it is. It sounRAB like some crazy out there genre of music that only the elite know about. Well...maybe that's true.

I don't think either is better, though I do lean more towarRAB complexity in preference.

I don't mean to discredit musicians who prefer a simple, even primitive method. But I think highly accomplished musicians don't get the respect they deserve, a lot of very talented songwriters and composers seem to get a lot of flak just because they are very technically gifted musicians and they exhibit that in their music.

Modern visual art nowadays isn't much different, people refuse to see the potential in actually being very skilled at something and instead see it as a liability. I'm not saying music should belong to an elite group of the most capable musicians. But I think shunning the idea of actually learning more techniques and how to improve as a musician is just as bad if not worse.
