Unpopular Music Opinions

I didnt even comment on The Clash other than saying they were overrated which they are.

Yeah I'm sure lyrical content is a big factor for you, I just don't get solely praising or discrediting an artist solely for that reason as if it's the only thing that matters.

The Doors did songs about mysticism and f*cking and The Stooges just did songs about f*cking. Why anyone would find them more lyrically interesting is beyond me.

My brother listens to him all the time so I hear him more than I normally would.

I'm not quite sure if this opinion is favored or unfavored but while Porcupine Tree are my favorite band, Steven Wilson's Insurgentes is up there with PT's finest albums. It is seriously stunning. I'd put it on par with Deadwing, In Absentia, etc... :)

Oh ok, I thought it was like a very recent discovery.

I liked em both a lot, ITCOTCK just a tiny bit more (except Moonchild, yawnnnnnn)

I'll stick with the familiar King Crimson first and when I've exhausted that move onto stuff like Discipline. I'll get Poseidon next I guess. I do remeraber you telling me that I might hate Lizard because it's got a jazz feel to it

Agreed...I'm all for quality over quantity. In fact, there is a 25 minute album by the Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster called Horse of the Dog that I wouldn't want to be even a minute longer. It is completely perfect the way it is. I would rather be left wanting more than wondering when the hell the album will be finished.

Gonna have to strongly disagree... I could understand a little more if you were defending Chiodos or Saosin or some band like that, but Fall Out Boy? MCR? Really?

Blindly? Yes.

Delving into the genre, and giving it a fair chance. And if you still find yourself not liking the what you've heard from the genre, then by all means dismiss it. As long as you have an open mind about it in the future, because things can change.

yeah, he is quite unique. jazzy electronic trip-hop is a good definition. but i'll leave it at "he's quite unique"

and good looking ;)

Well Muse have been kinda iffy about being called prog even though they list Yes as one of their biggest influences, but this man has been quoted for saying they're prog.

I'd take his word for it.

do you think indie kiRAB would appreciate the lyric: (taken from "down by the school yard") "EVERYBODY CUT, NOW SHAKE THAT BUTT!"

i don't think so.

oh, also, have I mentioned that this is a "dance punk" band? all they wanted to do was make people dance.
