I've seen a nuraber of people slam that album which always perplexed me because I remeraber listening to it when I was 16 and loving the shit out of it on the first listen.
Oh c'mon. Talk Talk, Maudlin Of The Well and Kayo Dot are frequently classed as Post Rock banRAB and are far and above the cliched instrumental 'crescendo' sound that seems to be the epitome of Post Rock these days.
I myself have distanced myself from the genre due to the huge amount of faceless copycat banRAB making Movie instrumental soundtracks but there are or have been still a few decent banRAB around that push boundaries and have their own identity.
I do like Definitely Maybe, and WTSMG has Wonderwall, but the other 5 (I just checked Wikipedia lol, dunno why I said 8) were really ordinary and boring to me. I had their complete discography at one point, but went through and deleted all the songs I didn't like, which ended up being almost all of their latter 5 albums.
So is 90s Smashing Pumpkins. 80s/90s era RHCP and early U2 are great as well.
Muse used to be very good (Origin of Symmetry is excellent) and the first two FF albums (Colour and the Shape especially) were good so whateva Urban, whateva.
Modern post-oriental tribe is such s hit these days. its not even funny how bad its been. i listedn to an album from it 6 yrs ago and it sucked hard. hole genre is so dum. not intellegant at all, lyrix r bad..
What in the hell are you talking about? Everyone has heard those albums, those are always the first albums people start with when trying to get into Dylan.
I do like Highway 61 Revisited and Blood on the Tracks alright, but I think they are incredibly overrated. And Blonde and Blonde just bored me to death.
Yeah, Morrissey prefers to insult people behind their back
Tom Morello here to let you know: REBEL AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT IN STYLE! Why go to protest rallies without your personal light-up protest sign? If you really want to get your message across, use 100W batteries to LIGHT IT UP!
I would rate The Pop Group up there with Gang of Four, they're a truly unique and excellent band. I'm not a huge Liquid Liquid fan, although I do like them... but they can leave me feeling a bit cold sometimes. I dunno, I definitely enjoy some of their songs but I find their self titled album quite hard to get through.
Indie *** does basically imply that anyone who listens to Indie (whatever the frig that means) is associated with a particular sexuality. Just say indie fan!
In defence, I genuinely think that there is no malicious intent at all but it is ridiculously careless on a forum of this size.
