Unpopular Music Opinions

Is it? Last I checked a slight (or maybe not so slight) majority of posters here seem to frequent the rock/metal forum more than anything else. I'm sure most of them would agree on Okkervil River being unredeemable, irreclaimable shite.

Uh, it doesn't matter if they knew, the results are what counts. I'm not saying it was a bad idea, just the end result wasn't up to snuff. It's not bad, never said it was, in fact I think it gets an unfair amount of flak, it's just as good as their other work.

The first stage is denial, It's ok. You can have your pathetic music, The Beatles, that couldn't even get a preteen girl to want to tap her feet, I'll pass on it though.

I know of Shellac, I just lost all of my Shellac albums in the great computer crash of '08.

I lost quite a bit of music. I might re-download the albums.

The thing about double albums is they were big before the CD was invented. It's unfair to say a band only makes a double album out of overindulgence because a lot of the best artists simply come up with too much great music to fit into a single LP, maybe not enough for 4 sides but enough for 3. But because of the vinyl years it would be weird to have an album of just 3 sides so back then filler was needed to do what filler was logically meant to do.

Overall double albums having at least a quarter's worth of filler isn't an issue with me. 3 good sides is still better than 2.

What are you talking about? I told you to shut up because I am sick of your stubborness when you've been proven wrong time and time again. I swear, it's like you just enjoy pushing people's buttons on issues that they care about. It's people like you that are ruining the music scene because that's all it is to you: a scene. As long as there's a hook, a pretty t shirt, boys wearing make up, and black clothing it must be emo right? You have no idea what you're talking about and it's sickening.

And enemyat_thesix, since when does a band's live performance at all make up for how shitty they sound on record? I do all of those things when I'm on stage and it doesn't sound as terrible as the FOT make it sound. He's only been playing for 3 years, thus, inexperience. I can back up everything I say about them so don't call it ignorant when I doubt you can say why you think Slayer is so bad.

Probably so, but music fans in general aren't very good musicians.

There are a few exceptions of course but for the most part musicians seem to find it easier to find their own voice by playing their own music rather than trying to immerse themselves in music made by others.
