It doesn't sound anything like The Court or their 70s work. It has a very strong new wave and art punk influence.



Being a very diverse band with many lineups, a lot of their albums sound nothing alike. Discipline is from the 80s and features a different lineup from Court and Red.

If you couldn't get into Court or Red you probably wouldn't like Larks, I consider it a great album but it's also one of their most inaccessible albums.

Lizard is another favorite and again it's quite different from everything else.
 
They seem to be more popular than they're deserving of, but there's a hundred other banRAB I could say the same thing about, most of them to a much greater extent than Radiohead, so... *shrug*
Also, the bolded part seems to epitomize overrated-ness. But maybe I'm just missing the point (which I seem to do very often these days).
 
In regarRAB to remixes of rock (or anything that's not originally electronic), I agree with you nearly 100%. But remixes of electronic songs can sometimes be as great or sometimes better than the original. Or sometimes they suck too. But "dance" remixes of rock songs are generally shit. As are mash-ups.
 
First of all, what's all this talk about talent and skills? Talent is a natural aptitude for something, but the skill is specifically what you know. Guitar playing and programming music are both skills, very different from each other, and imo, it's stupid to argue which of the two deserves more awe. Neither skill is more 'accomplished' than the other (whatever the hell that means?), it's entirely dependent on how competent X and Y person are at it.
 
I think it's ok to take to joke about someone's taste as long as it's in a light hearted and playful manner. I do make exceptions for merabers of this forum whom I can't stand personally.
 
I find them easier to read then yours actually.



In addition to being hella interesting lyrically wise, Coheed are superb musician and their music is hella fun.
 
As for Frankie as well, even if you don't like listening to him. When Scorsese releases the biopic of him it's a must watch :D

I wondered who will play ol' blue eyes. Will he and Dicaprio do it again..

Nobody - they had their own sound, but they didn't invent either the styles or ideas they experimented with - which is unfortunately what various corners of the music fan community, in a state of denial, wish to assert.

Oh yeah... Don't listen to Zep, all they play is blues music, so listen to Cream and Blind Faith because they're much more than blues banRAB?... I think I just pissed myself.
 
I spent 10 years being classically trained on piano and it really opened up the doors for me to be able to play other instruments. I'm not classically trained on anything else but I'm going to assume it would take just as much time and effort to become great on any other instrument. I've had a lot of frienRAB start on different instruments then try to transition to piano. They say it's harder than the instrument they play because there is more going on. Personally, I had an easier transition to playing bass and drums, which I do casually.
