Oh crap,I've wasted my life.

Considering your hatred for all of their radio songs I would suggest Freaky Styley or Uplift Mofo Party Plan, but don't bother if you can't get past his voice.

Maybe just listen to this song?

- sometimes I think the following banRAB might be better than The Beatles, album for album:

Van Halen
Steely Dan
AC/DC
Joni Mitchell
Iron Maiden
Pavement

I saw stereophonics supporting ac acoustics at nottingham rock city in 1997. no one really knew who they were but they completely rocked. It was obvious they were going to be massive. that was a great gig but I don't really rate any of their tunes that much (if that makes sense?). like you say a handfull of alright songs.

I realize this.

Machina II was the same sound as Machina I, and if were being completely honest here, the Machinas do not sound like pre-Adore Pumpkins. Billy described it as cyber proto rock or something like that. So Machina was just as new of a sound as Adore. Well, maybe not AS new considering it was guitar centered while Adore had little to no guitar. If were talking sales, the Adore sound sold better than the Machina sound. Still, 'Behold! The Night Mare' has better lyrics than anything off of Machina 2. During the Machinas he was writing lyrics that pertained to his little made up story about Glass and The Machines Of God, while during Adore he was writing about the pain of losing his mother. That's gotta count for something.

:stupid:

No, actually I didn't know that, what's your source?

Even if that's true, the credits still stand.

You couldn't be more wrong.

I don't see at all how Porcupine Tree are not being adventurous or original, I mean they have some stuff that can be rather radio friendly, but they have a pretty great and unique sound though they do get compared to Floyd a lot (which annoys the hell out of Steven Wilson). They mix it up with a lot of different styles and genres, everything from metal to psychedelic. So yeah, don't be dissing Porcupine Tree.

If theres any band you should criticize for being unoriginal it should probably be The Flower Kings, who sound an awful lot like King Crimson and Yes, but they are still good.

You do need to accept though that there still is prog out there thats pushing music in another direction, especially the really avant garde stuff. Sure there are a lot of banRAB who have a more retro sound and are basically just taking every que from their prog forefathers, but a lot of these banRAB are still amazingly talented and original or not its a sound I love anyway.

I would actually say that right now metal is more interesting, more diverse and just more high-quality that it ever has been. The "shit that's called metal today" covers a hell of a lot of ground.

Obvious troll is obvious.

Don't listen to much punk cos most it sounRAB the same and is generally unpleasent to listen to. Actually listen to a lot of 90s metal banRAB Pantera being my favourite and probably the only metal band i would prefer over RATM, and as for Jazz no body cares. as for grunge alice in chains and the screaming trees are the only grunge banRAB i can tolerate.

So i stand by my previous statemant RATM own the 90s

That's an odd statement. In buddhist culture, they have a way of looking at things, and something called chakras. The first chakra is about survival. The second chakra is a little more advanced, it's about sexual desires, and fulfilling wants. It continues to branch out.
Also, they say that a person in his lowest self cares only about himself
A person in the next stage cares about his self, and his family
You can branch out further, and care about yourself, your family, and your community
Then you can branch out further and care about all of those things and your state/ or country
Then, they say, a person in his highest self is someone who cares about all the things mentioned above and also, the entire world
So, if you follow this doctrine, RATM are in their highest self, and while worrying about politics might bore you, it doesn't equate someone who cares about it with being durab hippies just trying to sound cool.

The Ramones were excellent.

Yeah their songs sounded alike, so does everything from Chuck Berry/Little Richard/James Brown/Bo Diddley/every goddamn blues musician ever/whatever. It's called having a style.

The Buzzc0cks were better though.
