Unpopular Music Opinions

If anyone writes a genre off because many of its artists aren't original, they're durab.

Nu metal is boring, skilless garbage. It all sounRAB exactly the same and the sound is terrible. It's annoying. It's repetitive in a bad way. I've never heard a nu metal song I like.

Whenever someone says "Better than The Beatles", I take it as quality wise. There's no denying the impact The Beatles had on music, and whenever someone says "I don't like The Beatles", I'm fine with it, so long as that person knows what they did and respects them.

Now, I think Van Halen and AC/DC are fuc‎king terrible. I'd rather have a cow take a crap in my ears than listen to their music. I think they're insults to top-tier artists and should have never released an album.

Joni Mitchell and Pavement I've heard of but don't know a lot about.

Steely Dan, though, is my definite favorite band. S‎hit, I'm listening to them right now. Now, album-to-album, quality-wise? I'd say this is plausible. Steely Dan is probably the most consistent band in history and were always top notch, and I think that they could definitely run the table in a discussion about album quality.

POAAF was my introduction too, and while I liked Antichrist when it came out, it just wasn't the same (despite being produced by Dave Ogilvie...who was practially a 4th meraber of Skinny Puppy, having produced about half of their albums if not more). I guess I was 18 when that came out. My best friend and I had a great time with that album, saw them live in a tiny venue, etc. I had 2 copies of it on tape and one on CD, because I'd lend it out and then desperately want to hear it so I'd buy another. :p: It was great for acid trips, it was fun. Can't say that about Antichrist.

You know you don't mean that.

I just never got into The Fall, I've only listened to This Nation's Saving Grace and never really took to it.

Though I lived near where they formed, for a time. I might listen to This Nation's Saving Grace again. Been a while since I tried it out.

If a band has technical prowess of which they like to demonstrate then that is "boring" and "unhip".

Word of advice to any aspiring musician wanting critical acclaim, do NOT learn how to play your instrument.
