Unpopular Music Opinions

I agree with Oomph actually. The Beatles WERE pretty lame.

But, uh, I think that everyone here knows that Linkin Park isn't emo. These days they're like, pop-rock.

Well, I can think of one reason. They were both kinda ****ed in the head. That kind of thing probably blinRAB people to a lot of what is going on in the external world.

Seriously, if the underlying question you're throwing at us here is...

...why would I want to hear from people with opinions who write about social issues in a way which might spark thought and debate when I could hear somebody suicidal sing about how sorry they feel for themselves?...

... then I'd really like to know exactly what you think makes constitutes a worthy song topic. Is it only meaningful if it's about how some life-incompetent struggles oh so hard to live because sometimes they feel, like, really sad?

The only issue I have with Rage is that Tom Morello, in statements like the one somebody quoted a few posts ago, seems to be trying to ingratiate himself with those who are seriously oppressed by suggesting that the same oppression has happened to him.

'You and I'. The way that reaRAB makes it seem he places himself in the same category as the seriously oppressed. But if you don't assume that Rage are pretending to be the victims, and that they are just relaying the message, then it's fine.

Gotta side with Stu here - if thats what is really meant, Pablo Honey sounRAB alot more like US centric grunge / alt rock than anything Radiohead ever went on to make...

I have another potentially unpopular musical belief...

Pearl Jam actually got better with every succesive release, and Ten and Vitalogy are by far their least great albums...

Just butting in here, local banRAB aren't necessarily all crappy, but merely non discovered by most.

These guys are locals I know the guitarist with the beard.

You know listening to Iron and Wine is exactly like listening to a less meaningful and more boring Nick Drake. I don't see why everyone points the finger out Elliott for "ripping" him off when they don't sound much alike but no one gives a crap about Iron and Wine who is just a worse version of Nick Drake. Plus Sam Beam looks like hes amish.

But, is bolding artist names really needed? yeah typing thigns like this can et confusio ngw we for long pstiss posts but is it really so hard to recognize proper nouns?

Yeah. It just feels weird to be reading a post and all of a sudden there's random emphasis on everything in places where it doesn't make any sense.

Oh hell no.

If that second thing refers to me (and it probably does); I'm in the same 'age range' as she is. It was meant as a comparison rather than a compliment (also because I don't think mainstream music necessarily sucks).

Pinkerton is one of those albums full of songs that I like. But the Blue Album, on the other hand, is full of songs that I *love*. The Green Album has some songs I love but also some songs I don't care for, so I would probably place it below the first two.

'Getchoo' is the other standout from Pinkerton...
