Unpopular Music Opinions

TIME magazine are on the same boat as you, as I once was, but my advice is to keep persevering. For me, the more I listened to them, the more I liked.

The thing is, the side of Nirvana that is overexposed is sooo different from the rest of their catalog. If the people who hate 'Come As You Are' gave Insecticide a chance I'm sure they would look at the band differently...

I never got the Elliot Smith hate.

I do think he's overrated by indies and emos alike, but I do like him. Nick Drake, now thats someone I just don't get at all. I heard Pink Moon, and I thought it was lame.

fixed that for you. yes, it was released under the Soundgarden moniker, but really, for the most part it's his first foray into solo territory. especially considering about half the album sounRAB like polished versions of the kind of acoustic demos Cornell recorded for earlier material. Never the Machine Forever, and Applebite are the only real highlights.

the 6 minutes and change of Head Down obliterates the entirety of Down on the Upside, nothing on DotU matches the driving intensity in the undercurrents of that one. Overfloater does its best to rehash it though...

Oooh ohh, I got some moar!!!!

Dubstep is only good to listen/dance to when you're ****ed up (i.e. drunk, high, etc.)
Most drum & bass music, especially jump up sounRAB the same
I think it's good for music to be a little cheesy, just as long as it's not too cheesy. (which is why I love 80s pop, eurodance, disco, and glam metal.)

That fall out boy isn't too bad, still not something I would find myself listening too, but it's a lot better than the other **** they managed to crap out.

What. I got bored after one verse, This goes on for 6 Minutes? I thought rap was meant to be about the meaning of the lyrics and how it all "relates", yo. As the chorus of this masterpiece, we have:

Do the smurf, Do the wop, Baseball bat
Rooftop, like I'm bringin '88 back

This means what, exactly? And stop the press, hold on there a second. Did he just? Why yes, he just quoted The goddamn Safety Dance. While that wins some insanity points, it... pretty much lowers everything else. The back track is basically just a beat with a bit of distortion as a platform for the lyrics, which is fine... if the lyrics are any good. Yeah he's got decent rhythm (some of the time) and the rhymes are alright, but seriously:

We know who this be, it's me, no secrets
Stuck to the beat and glued to the sequence
Igloos than we is
You can catch us walkin on the weekend
While you awkwardly breathin
From all the second hand smoke

What does this mean. I mean really, what? That's just a random excerpt from the list of equally nonsensical lyrics that I found for this monstrosity. I quite like some Rap, if it makes sense, it flows, and there's a point to it. But this? This is just rubbish, mangled together and put to a beat. Yeah, Haters gonna hate, cause it's bollocks.
