Unpopular Music Opinions

So Oasis can't influence people from Australia? Or am I missing something? Things have been rough for poor Muse :(

The thing is though, he didn't just come out (most of the time) and drag a load of people through the press. Interviewers would ask him a question to get news, simple as that. If they didn't ask what Oasis thought of Keane, he wouldn't tell them. Damon actually started the feud between Oasis and Blur, there was a gig in Manchester, Oasis gig and Blur gig were close. And they agreed to call off both gigs incase of trouble and Oasis called theirs off and Blur carried on anyway. Damon started the feud. I'd rather Noel come out and say Damon - I don't like you, you're a prick and your music is shit. Than play nicey nicey, he had something to say... and he said it. Nothing wrong with that.

I don't know whether he does drum solos with Genesis I just know he has done them live. There's no place for shit drum solos, even live. But that's just my personal thing, can't stand drum solos.

A shedload of 80's guitar music has now been given a Post Punk tag even though they shared few similarities with the genre.

Post Rock as a genre is a fairly new genre but you can trace it's origins much further just the same as Post Punk.

The modern musical version of Post Rock is a cliched scene full of copycat banRAB I admit but using a retroactive label to include previously unclassifiable banRAB has been going on forever and shouldn't be used as a catch all for a band. Many banRAB have been unclassifiable and it takes a genre for them to be tagged with it.

Band like Interpol and The Editors have had the Post Punk label applied to them which obviously is a huge misnomer but they are not indicative of the genre at all.

As a specific genre I can see why it bores you but the scene is far more scopeful than instrumental rock banRAB and it just took a while for a label to be attached to theses banRAB.

Look you said Athiest sucked. I disagreed. They are a Technical Death Metal band. Why not just a Technical Metal band? Or a Death Metal band? because they sound nothing like PsyOpus(a Technical Metal band) or Morbid Angel (a Death Metal band).

I agree that sub genre's sometimes are too much, saying that they don't have their uses or that it doesn't give people a fuller understanding of the style of music played is rediculous.

Stop being a twat.

Well I'm never durab enough to base my entire musical opinion on how much soul something has and how much soul another poster has. Which is sad seeing as thats basically what your argument boils down to. I Wanna Hold Your hand touches me more than Sympathy for the fucking Devil ever will and it's one of the Beatles worst songs. See how that works? Now I could turn around and say because you disagree you have no soul but does that prove anything?

See I never said the lyrics didn't fit the song or anything even you admit it's not a 'monument to good writing' which is what I'm getting at.

I happen to think Spit It Out is a very good track and there are a couple on volume 3 that are good too. There are far worse banRAB out there and it's no worse than a lot of similar music that is accepted.

Creed aren't even that bad, I don't get why they get mentioned in the same vein as Nickelback. Probably because they're both big selling artists in the states that aren't very good, over here neither are really liked. Which is good, but Creed aren't completely terrible, I just wouldn't want to listen to one of their recorRAB. They have a couple of good songs.

His stuff with the Ozz is good but I hate Black Label Society. They're like the most white trash band in existence, hell I like Pantera a lot, but BLS take it to a ridiculous extreme.

I don't really like his guitar playing even if his skills are impressive, his riRAB are terribly generic and his solos rely heavily on ornaments (which today are metal cliches) to mask the fact that he can't really write very good hooks or melodies, nothing wrong with flashy solos (being a Van Halen fan) but his excessive use of vibrato and pinch harmonics is overkill I think.

I also strongly dislike him as a person. Mainly because he's a hateful, sexist, racist, homophobic douchebag.

Therein lies the problem.

Only Cynic and Athiest can really be considered Technical Death Metal. I can reccomend/YSI some albums or songs if you're willing to give it another shot.

I love people with interesting voices, and he uses his "crappy" voice to great effect. Other than that, the guy is a badass. He just does what he loves with no compromise.
