Nationwide plans are not supposed to charge data usage for pictures. The reason you are getting multiple stories is because on the old america's choice plans, you would get charged for data usage with picture messages.

Now if you are indeed on a nationwide plan and 100% sure you are not using any data, you can do 1 of 2 things.

Call customer service (be nice) and request they open a DIMOND biling issue because it appears you are getting charged data usage for pictures.

or

Call customer service, request to be transferd to Technical support. Explain the problem to the technical support repersentative and see if they have any ideas of why the charges may be occuring, or see if they can open a trouble ticket for you.

*TIP* DO NOT REQUEST A SUPERVISOR. Verizon Wirelsss supervisors are their to mange employees, because they don't handle calls everyday they are not usually as knowledgable as a front line repersenative who deals with problems everyday.

I have talked to multiple individuals claiming to be technicians and have been given multiple explanations and a few have even basically called me a liar and said that I must be using data.

I do not surf the web, send email or download anything to my phone using VZW

Hello! I am Nick and I will attempt to assist you come to solution with Verizon Wireless. I do not work for Verizon Wireless as of November 22. I now work for a wireless testing facility in California, so I pretty much work for every carrier now.

Your issue seems to be a large one. You shouldn't be charged for data, unless you actually use it.

Start right now by calling Verizon Wireless from a Landline phone. 1-800-922-0204 is their number. Follow steps. Once you are at the main menu, press 0 to quickly get to someone. Then enter the passcode or last 4 digits of the account holders social security number. Then request them to BLOCK all data services, including picture/video messages, internet, etc. Anything that can incur additional fees. Somethings, they may be unable to block...but block as much as possible. Then wait. See if the fees still pop up. If they do, then its disputable. Call back, and have them review the account and have them notice that everything is blocked...and then they'll credit it and further investigate it.

If it comes back with no data fees, then call back and remove the most important services you need. See if it bills you the following month.

With Data, it is difficult for representatives to assess the actual cause for the fee, so sometimes, you may need to go the extra distance and slowly solve the issue on your own.

Do as much as you can. Ask the representative "What can I do to prevent these fees from happening?" They will kindly walk you through the process.

Contact the BBB and the FCC is guaranteed not to solve the issue, since in your wireless contract it states that all issues will be delt with within the company. All issues will be reviewed by the Verizon Wireless judicial team, not the FCC or any other exterior organization. Supinas are the only exception. You can get one of these from a judge to force Verizon Wireless to release the detailed information, like the IP addresses.

Thanks Nick, I think I will try that, I was hoping for a more quick way to resolve this.

This might be a dumb question but why from a landline??

I have to ask, If I am not supposed to be charged data then why have I been told at different times by different VZW employees that all Smartphone

One more question.

If I change anything on my plan (blocking, unblocking data) will I be forced to take the $29.99 data plan for smartphone's??

The only reason I ask is because one of the CSR/Techs informed me if anything is done to my plan then the $29.99 Data feature will be added.

Oh, I did forget about the mandatory new data plan...oops, my bad.

You will (or shouldn't be) forced to add the $29.99 fee per month for data when you do remove the features...but when you add the features back...you may be forced to do so...:ah:.
