There's a huge pain in my right shoulder that comes and goes at different times. It doesn't seem to be a muscle that is near the surface, as I can't massage it and feel the pain that way. It happens sometimes when I simply move my right arm. When it happens, it hurts so bad that it makes it impossible to do anything with it. It would be easy to attribute it to using it too much or lifting something heavy, but this whole thing started when I was doing the least strenuous activity of all---I was sitting in a chair and watching TV! The pain just started up and kept getting worse! I tried moving my arm to different positions, but it only got worse. Then it eventually got better at that time, but the pain has flared up again at different times and then it goes away.
My inability to tie the pain to a particular cause is kind of frustrating since it doesn't give me a direction in which to come up with a solution. Does anyone here know what could be causing this kind of pain?
