UK food eating challenge venues, view on map, suggest new ones

I heard a story on Radio 1 last week one evening (Friday I think it was) about some guy who did a Pizza slice challenge with his mates at a Pizza Hut. Can't remeraber how many exact slices he downed, but it was some absurd nuraber...

Not sure if they are still doing this .

BBC - Derby - Features - Steak-out!

It's the same village that you looked at the Lotus Stuart

I did 18 slices once at Uni including crusts, which was our record. I'm sure it doesn't quite measure up to some of the above though!

Also, myself and a couple frienRAB did one challenge where we had to eat a 16'' deep pan pizza, a tub of Hagen Daz, a litre of Coke and a Garlic Baggette each in less time than the Two Towers extended edition. No one did it, but I remeraber I had everything done bar two slices of pizza

Lunchtime buffet?

There is a cafe in or near Croydon that does a breakfast challenge - tin of beans, pack of bacon, pack of saussages, various black puddings, tomoatos, rounRAB of toast. Finish it and it's free. Can't remeraber the name of the place.

I'm ashamed to say I really like Man v Food too

It's wrong on so many levels and oddly is a metaphor for America vs Earth's resources. But is strangely compelling car crash tv, eating by-proxy, he's killing himself and hardening his arteries so I don't have to. A veritable gastronomic Jesus Christ, dying for our pornographic food lust.

I won't be doing any of these food challenges at all, but I have found myself ramping up the chilli as of late and I suspect Man v Food is to blame.

Anyway, I thought I'd share Charlie Brooker's take on it

Have you ever seen the 'making of' on man vs food. He talk about how he prepares, doing lots of running and gym work. I know he's not exactly tiny but he's in much better shape than you'd think doing that show!

there is a cafe in beckenham that does similar.

the breakfast includes a quater pound berger, 4 sausages, pack of bacon and tin of beans, toast, bread and butter, fried bread, hash browns, large portion of chips, mushrooms, black pudding, 2 fried eggs and a cup of tea.

certainly got my chow down on in that place.

The Ashvale chip shop - the whale

Haven't tried it myself but I really need to....

Theres a chain of fish & chip shops (or chippers to the locals) in Aberdeen, they do a meal called "The Whale" 1-lb of cod deep fried in batter and a side of chips and peas. Manage to finish it and you get a second free or a free pudding of your choice, think you even get a certificate too.

This is a thread i've always wanted to start, but never quite got around to it.

Man vs food is excellent, most of the dishes look great, although a little unhealthy.

I've looked but have never found anywhere that offers the sort of challenge. It's also my 11yr old daughters favourite programme, especially the carnivore challenge.

I always make my own burgers and have now adapted my receipe to make my own challenge, used to make average sized burgers. but last time i made 3/4lb burgers in massive cheese topped rolls with 3 big tiger prawns 3 rashers of middle back bacon and lots of cheese.(and a little salad).

Hopefully between all of us we can start putting some man vs food challenges on the map.

This is the one I was trying to think of - The Blowout breakfast at the Fat Boys cafe in Thornton Heath.

£7.75 - free if you finish it.

Grease is the word (From Croydon Guardian)

They don't have a website. If a venue withdraws the challenge or goes bust, we have no way of knowing.
So I'm going to need a webpage showing the challenge before I can add it
