two OHM or 4 OHM 15 inch sub?

im buying a fosgate 1000 watt 500 RMS 15 inch sub at this very moment, im just stuck at 2 or 4 ohms. i know you choose your amp first but i dont have the money for that right now.

my question is what amp would i get for 2? and what amp for 4?
alright im buying the 4 ohm right now, should i get a mono or 2 channel amp?

well, I suggest getting 4 ohm speakers, because if the impedence is too low, you'll fry your stereo.
 
well if u get a 4ohm amp then it will take more power to push the sub than a 2ohm sub. i would go with a 2ohm sub and match the ohm for an amp. u will spend less money that way
 
Whatever you end up doing, you want to try and match your impedance's. If you can't match them, the rule of thumb is, for an electronic amp, the speakers should be equal to or greater than on the impedance of the Amp. For a tube amp, the speakers should be equal to or less than on the impedance of the Amp.
