Twilight the anime?

That's what the internet is created for, because attitudes like that would never stand up in the real world.

Considering the popularity of HP around the world - all the money it's made, the success of the books and movies, the merchandise, the up-coming theme park attractions - JK Rowling must have done something right.
 
As much as I like the series, I'm enough of a geek to know mass media success doesn't = quality even if you can determine that in any sort of objective way. My family watches teen dramas and reality shows after dinner while I indulge in doing the dishes instead. Potter is so big, in part, because it has an online fanbase that propelled it past just being a book. I know listening hours of podcasts on it each week intensified my fandom. My biggest issue is that it tied up Harry's quest for a family too neatly. Granted, you could say Star Wars went the same way in resolving the "love triangle" but after reading the Twilight series through, I don't think SW or Potter are nearly as bad in comparison.
 
As a fan of Twilight, (More so of the first two books than the rest.) I'm somewhat interested in how this is going to turn out should this information be confirmed as official.

The hint towarRAB an anime adaptation in the quote sounRAB more like a joke to me, though. I know that Robert Pattison isn't exactly fond of his reputation as "Edward the Vampire" so the quote could just be taken as something like a tease---"tease" as in they were teasing the actor that his role as Edward would not end so soon.

Then again, I could be over analyzing this. I probably am.
 
It was made by a mormon, who canned the makeout on the bed scene from the Theater version of Twilight cause it was too mature.
Also outright said that all 4 movies will be pg-13

she seems to be pretty much anti-sex or something. If Stephanie has in control over the anime, there may not be fan service period.
 
I remeraber a series of magazine articles on the subject, as well as a letter from Terry Pratchett. It's been more than a year so it'll take me a while to find them. I'll post a complete reply when I have them.

EDIT: I can't find anything on her studying mythology, so we'll leave that aside.

Firstly, this is apparently what she thinks of the fantasy genre. Romanticized and pseudofeudal. One would think she'd be a bit more knowledgeable of the genre she's so popular at, instead of trying to avoid it. I

Secondly, from what I've heard she has a monstrous ego, for example, she won a hugo and never picked it up. This is a prestigious award she completley ignored, taking more than half a decade to so much as write a note about it.

Thirdly, there's the series itself: The series is full of gaping plot holes so big you could fill them with water and sail an ocean liner through them. She's supposed to be this great author but so many things aren't considered by supposedly intelligent characters and Voldermort is so inept it's almost comical.
 
Well, she did write The Host which is more of an adult sci-fi book (I read it and thought it was much more well written than Twilight). After that success, I'd be surprised if she doesn't write more.
 
Funny you say that, considering in the books, the main character
gets raped by her main love interest, then convinces herself that she deserved it and that he loves her
plus tons of other warped-arse messages that are really unhealthy for young women to be exposed to.
 
If this happens, I'll dub this show lame for not letting anime do what it does best and that's delievering plenty of fanservice next to having giant robots kick the living crap out of each other.

I don't know how credible an off-hand remark in DVD commentary is. If it is true, I'm sure we'll be hearing about it eventually.



I hear she vowed of writing because some chapters of her next Twilight book were leaked on the web. She says she was too hurt by the betrayal to continue, or so I hear.
 
She said she didn't know if she'd finish writing Midnight Sun (which is Twilight from Edward's perspective instead of Bella's) after the leak, not stop writing all together. *shrug*
 
Seconded. I miss the Count Orlock esque interpretation, the vampire as monstrous profanity. If not, I'll settle for the vampires in Blade I and II (there is no sequel to Blade II) vampire as ninja.

This is going to be 100 degrees of awful. I was hoping it was just speculation.
 
And the lady gets it 100% correct. I wouldn't watch a Twilight cartoon, but there's no denying that there there are people that would like to. If the very concept drives you nuts, well, there are plenty of other genres and story ideas out there. You hate bishi vampires? Well, go buy Hellsing Ultimate. You have a choice.
