Long time BEV customer here, just upgraded to BEV HD about a week ago with their 6 months free programming deal for existing customers. I'm enjoying it so far but have noticed that I'm not getting TSN HD on 850. It's not listed in the guide (not even in Red). When I type in the channel I get "This is a subscription channel, please call blah blah blah". Should I be able to see it, or am I missing something?

I believe TSN HD and Sportsnet HD are only included in the HD programming if you subscribe to the Sports 1 theme pack. Do you subscribe to this pack? If so, are you getting Sportsnet HD as well right now?

Yup I subscribe to Sports 1 and 2. I hadn't noticed, but I'm not getting Sportsnet HD either.

You need to suscribe to Sports1 to get TSN HD and Sportsnet HD...in the system we need to add a little code, on top of the HD Value pack for you to get it. If you have Sports1 it's probably just a matter of adding that code

Boavista it ain't weird...there is a pre-requirement to be able to get those channels (suscribe to Sports 1), therefore they coudn't make it as part of the HD Value Pack. They added a code in the order system that is right under the HD Value Pack, so when agent activate the HD Value Pack and client does have Sports 1 he needs to select both. Same thing aplies when client has Raptors

this question is for expreevu agent.how come if tsn is in digital standard that evertone has to subcribe to how come its not in the hd pac.seams to me u have to double pay for that channel when it should be part of the hd pac cause your already paying for that channel.

TSN HD is not part of the Digital Standard...

To get TSN you need to suscribe to Sports 1

To get TSN HD you need to suscribe to Sports 1 + HD Value Pack

Since there is pre-requirement for that HD channel when we add the HD Value pack we need to add an extra code for TSN and Sporsnet to aso be there. If you are geting the HD Value pack and Sports 1, you need to call the customer service to see whether it's a real technical issue or a matter of adding that code

So did you have to pay another $8 to get the Sports 1 package? In order to get the TSN & Sportsnet channels in HD?

Or did you already have it, already were "paying for" the HD Channel Pack, but it STILL didn't show up until you actually called in so an agent could "
add an extra code".

Bell is very upfront about the Sports 1 requirement. I'm just wondering if you need to pay $18 to get the channels you wanted or, if the $10 was enough but you still had to specifically ask Bell to "flip the switch" for something ou were already paying for.

I think its lame that you sign up for HD programing and then get forced into Channel packs to "unlock" certain HD Channels. TSN HD for example. Years ago they said one day we will be able to pay for what we want. WEll im still waiting. Im down to 5 themes, but would love to pick and choose my channels instead. With all the technology i know they do this on purpose to get you to up you bill just another 5$ here and there till you dropping 100$ a month but hardly watch the extra theme packs.

Sorry for the rant. IF i want TSN and SPEED only i should be able to get just those 2 at a reasonable price. $2.50 a channel is not reasonable..

Sorry again

I had the same issue with TSN and Sportsnet - a quick (less than 5 minutes) call to BEV and they were added 20 minutes later.

How do you expect Bell to pay for the infrastructure if everybody picks 10 channels ? If it were the case, revenue would decrease and they would have to cut the channel offering to save on costs and we're back to square one. Some of your channels would be dropped and here you go whining.

Videotron seems to cover its infrastructure just fine. With the a la carte plan you can pick any 20 channels for $22 or 30 channels for $30. That is on top of basic cable which is very basic ($14). I think every provider should have a similar option.

DR. That seems like a fair way to do it. I dont mind paying for the infrastucture. Sure if we all pick 10 channels they cant make money, I understand the basically want us all spending at least 50$ but would rather us spend 100$. Thats 100% ok with me. But i would rather spend my current 50$ on a channels that i really want. IF was the standard 30$ time shifted networks and then a la carte for 20-30-40-50 channels that would be great.

Fact is i spend 53$ now for 5 theme packs and of the 5 theme packs i have some 48 or so channels. I only actually like or watch or want about 15-20 of those channels. But if 5 themes = approx 48 channels i would much rather be going a-la-carte for my other 28 channes from all the other themes.

I dont give a rats ass how the infrastructer actually works. I want freedom and flexiblity. They could surely come up with a senario i described above or what DAVE pointed out that videotron does.

Videotron does it ? Really ? I've been a Videotron subcriber since 1998 and I have NEVER heard of that option. It's not even on their website. Where did you get that information from ? I want a link.

yea when i got HD back in december they forgot to acitvate those channels on my HD box to. When i asked why the CSR told me something about those two channels being on the computer are seperate to activate then the rest of the channels... weard:confused:

I think I know why, I'm still on classic cable ;-).

If you add numbers, 14 + 30 = 44, you're pretty near Expressvu's ARPU for French speaking customers.

Expressvu's ARPU would go deep down the ocean if it were possible to pick channels like you do on Vid
