Truly Awful Performances By A Lead Actor

I remembered another one - Tom Hanks in The Da Vinci Code (shudder), he was so, so bad in that film. Personally, I've always thought Hanks was better as a comedic actor.

Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins (a bad British accent in a film is still known as a 'Van Dyke)

Sean Connery in any film which requires him to play any character, bar himself.

That strange kid who played Harry Potter... Daniel someone... we paid good money to see him in a play in the West End and we walked out at the first opportunity. The play was good but he was dire

I have to say...

Daniel Radcliffe in the first two movies. But things improved from there.

Kristen Dunst in Bring It On. What an awful, awful actress!!

other than that, I'll have to give it a bit more thought.

I'd almost forgotten about that film.....thanks for the reminder Margo.:D La Dunaway rampages through that role chewing the scenery like Godzilla in heat. It's fantastically over the top and a once in a lifetime experience. Have to say though that the make-up department did a stunning job on her. She looks so much like Joan Crawford it's scary.

Yep, I don't care much for Josh Hairnet either, he seems to have the same fixed dumb expression on his face in every film.

Not an actor but an actress - watched Barbarella the other day and forgotten just how bad Jane Fonda was in that film but I still love it nonetheless. :o:D

Shia LeBouf (sp????) Transformers, really can't put my finger on it though.....

George Clooney- Batman, why oh why??

Arnire- Kindergarden Cop, don't get me started

Halle Berry- Catwoman, need we say more I went with my frienRAB to try it out cos we're very big fans of the batman franchise and sorry no-one will ever beat the original catwoman.

Jack Nicholson in 'The Shining'. Unrestrained, unhinged, unwatchable. And the fact that it was supposed to represent the character's descent into madness is a flimsy justification indeed.

The performance needed to be reigned in, but, unfortunately, the film had at the helm Mr Kubrick who understanRAB nothing of the human condition.

There is not a trace of the masterly control and balance, nor the wonderful nuances, Nicholson brought to R.P. McMurphy, Jake Gittes or Robert Dupea.

Christ, it's so abhorrently awful I'd actually prefer to watch his 'Joker'.....then again, maybe not.

What are you expecting? Oscar winning performances? lol, Most of the Arnie films are either Action or Comedy, which in both he does a good job. Films like Commando, Terminator 1 & 2, Total Recall, True Lies and Twins he was good. I thought Jingle all the way was funny.

He played the part well, Sadly it was the film that was Shite.

I'd just like to add The Majestic, as well.

I know alot of people have said this but I totally agree that Tom Hanks was Class in Forrest Gump:cool:, saying he's shite is like saying Dustin Hoffman is Crap in Rain Man.

Here's a name that says awful performance.

 Ben Stiller

I actually like him in Something about Mary, but since then he plays the same part in basically every other film.
