Truly Awful Performances By A Lead Actor

Really? thats a bit spooky, it hasn't been on telly for years I don't think, luckily I have it on DVD. Haven't watched it for a while now though so wouldn't have minded watchiing last night, instead I ended up watching a documentary about people throwing themselves off Golden Gate Bridge, which was really quite disturbing.

But Honeymoon In Vegas is a great film.

anyone mentioned Kevin Costner yet?

I can't stand him in anything other than The Untouchables, or Dancing with Wolves.

He's awful as Robin Hood

going back to forrest gump i thought that was hanks finest preformance and he'll never recapture that again

michael caine in anything absolutely wooden to me and the same all the time

and have to agre about hayden christiansen in star wars wot an awful peformance

Have you seen RAY? I thought Jamie Foxx was incredible in that film. He totally deserved the oscar for it.

Farrell, I'll give you although he was not bad in In Bruges which is more of a comedy role rather than a tough guy, action man role.

Angelina Jolie in Alexander (the Transylvanian accent) and anything else she appears in!

Truly one of the worst performances in history. He should have won a Razzie award.

I watched The Untouchables the other day, and it is beyond me how Connery won an Oscar for that film. His Irish accent while playing a Chicago cop was disgraceful. He was totally unbelievable in the role.

Also, Charlton Heston in films like Planet of the Apes and Solyent Green. He's so over-the-top.

You know, I have to agree. I wasn't convinced by that performance at all, he's not a bad actor by any means, but seriously overrated.

To the comment about child actors, I rarely see a film where I'm appalled by the kiRAB acting. In fact I often find myself thinking they outshine the adults. I'm talking mainly about Dakota Fanning, Abigail Breslin, Macaulay Culkin... but its been years since I've seen a s**t child actor in a movie...... (thats if we forget about the supporting cast of Harry Potter)

I read Leaving Las Vegas before I saw the film and I was disappointed with the results. Nicholas Cage didn't encapsulate and inhabit the character. His portrayal of an alcoholic who has decided to drink himself to death was two-dimensional at best. We, as an audience, could have connected with the character even though he was not imminently likeable, but I found that I was waiting for him to kick the bucket at the end, instead of hoping that he may change his mind and live on.
Having said that, the script was not up to much and the direction was awful, especially the unbelievable plot device of having Sera's character spilling the beans to a "counsellor" in order to facilitate the narrative exposition.

Read the book, it's much better.

I'm gonna probably be very unpopular for saying tis but what the hell, personally I think Forrest Whitaker is a bit of a ham. I can tolerate him (just about) as a supporting actor but as a lead actor he's well out of his depth IMO.
