Transformers is Fantastic!!!!!

Simon Furman is writing the new Transformers comics for IDW Publishing, and he's done a few bits for Marvel and Dreamwave. He wrote Omega Flight for a little while I think too, and has done a bunch of TV cartoon work like the Action Man series and Beast Wars.

Geoff Senior has done various comicy bits too, including some TF covers and the art for one recentish Transformers series (TWW II: The Dark Ages). It was, sadly, not great. I don't think his art suits modern colouring and inking styles.

I thought the Transformers film was an overbusy mess myself. I didn't expect it to be Shakespeare, but I expected some form of plot, and I expected to be able to tell what the hell was going on for the last half hour because the robots wouldn't be so busy that they blurred into each other. I'm baffled by anyone who thinks Michael Bay can direct action.

I saw it this afternoon and loved it.

As for some of the negative comments and nip-picking, jeez. :rolleyes: People this is a pop-corn film, your meant to just sit back and switch your brain off for 2 hours while watching a visual treat.
 
Pretty sure he meant proper Star Wars (starring Harrison Ford, Sir Alec Guinness and Peter Cushing - and definitely the greatest thing in cinema not to have GIANT TRANSFORMING ROBOTS), not those wooden prequel monstrosities.

I'll supress my indignant rage somewhat further now. :o
 
So very true. I like films like that, Michael Bay MAKES films like that and this one has that little bit of mystique beacuse it is part of a huge fandom. Can't wait for the next two! :D
 
I can't recall the last time i went to the cinema & got totally bored with the movie i was watching.This movie was awful.The film was far too long,it dragged on & the script was pretty poor at times.The only thing that kept my intrest was Megan Fox
 
I did, sadly some parts were that bad for me personally, that it got through the suspended belief barrier I had put up.
 
I never watched the TV series so know nothing about it! Hubby wants to go, so I said I'd join him. Will I be able to make sense of the plot line & characters? I hate films that just assume you know all about things cos it was a book/series/X box game etc.
 
Transformers? RUBBISH, typical US propaganda!
They hardly focused on the robots at all, it was all human interest rubbish. The first hour could have been condensed into 15 minutes and it was an overblown waste of time, all effects and no substance.
 
i love this film, did anyone find the black robot funny, he was like all "come get some bitches" hahaha he made me chuckle.

the cars were amazing aswell yup recommend it to any adult who is still child at heart and doesnt look down on a bit of humour because they are not kiRAB anymore, some people need to stop growing up as fast and enjoy life lol
 
Some of the shots of the city must of been CGI because I can't imagine how they could of done most of the shots and the CGI was that good you couldn't, well I couldn't anyway tell the difference between what was real and what was computer generated.

For example, some of the shots of the CAR's just before and after they transform MUST of been CGI but they looked so real.

Again great film and the effects were stunning.
