Transformers 2

Watched this at the weekend and really enjoyed it, although suprisingly long! Didn;t notice till I left though.

Only comment was that the female parts seemed to be merely eye candy and nowt else, i didn't know wether they were acting or posing for a laRAB mag half the time, made me chuckle at how naff that was a lot of the time

Well, it wasn't bad, I've seen worse. Typical Michael Bay film though, lots of bang bang, nothing decent in the acting/script/story department though. 7/10

I loved one comment in a review I read. Something like Megan Fox is so wooden that she makes Jordan look like Liv Ullman! ha ha.

Still to see it, but ordered the score music, not missing out on it like I did with the first score that is out of print.

One of the film's heroes, John Connor gets stabbed in the heart toward the end of the film.

To save him, Marcus, the other hero (who is half man-half Terminator) offers his heart.

Seemingly, Connor's wife (who was trained as a vet) successfully completes the heart transplant in a tent in the desert.

I dunno why I come in here to read this thread...lol, all I see is blah blah winge winge...I try not to focus on any plot holes or apparents racist robots or confusing storytelling. From what I could see, it was pretty straight forward and it's a Michael Bay Film, crash bang wallop, explosions a-plenty!!

I saw it again today, and liked it just as much if not more, now that I knew what to expect and could just enjoy it! :D

Saw the film this afternoon. While it wasn't quite as dire as most reviews have made it out to be, it wasn't a patch on the first film.

Clearly little or no script had been developed as the film was just one set piece action sequence after another.

That said, it had in spades what the first film didn't have, that being lots of robot on robot action. And that's what Transformers is about.

Very little was seen of Ironhide or Ratchet in a speaking capacity. And was that silver sports car, not the Audi, Autobot or Decepticon.

Didn't like the Twins much at all, and their constant bickering and jive talking was annoying.

I wished Devastator was more like the cartoon version, and that more attention was paid to the combining of the various vehicles. Various camera angles just made it look like a messy merging.

As much as I didn't care for John Turturro in the first film, he pretty much saved the sequel as he was the only character with any personality, and I found myself rooting for him near the end when he was climbing the pyramid to stop Devastator.

I liked the idea of Super Prime at the end, but the final battle was over all to quickly, and The Fallen was destroyed too easily.

6.5/10

Didn't it just feel soooo loooong. I mean for a movie that has so much stuff happening in it, it felt so looong. Argh

And as for those saying...... It ain't Shakespeare.... just enjoy it.... Well, yes no one is expecting great things from it... But is it really so much to ask for.... to have a good film?

Really.... Is it impossible now?

Saw this over the weekend, hadn't a clue what was going on for most of the time. It only seemed to actually get a plot midway through in some kind of weird star wars Emperor/Vader like chat with the baddies up in space? that just came out of nowhere....think it was space?
I didn't dislike the film, it was pretty to look at...but it just felt all over the place to me wheras the first ran quite smoothly (For a Michael Bay movie) :)

Personally though I think the summer movies thus far have been pretty poor....

The gold toothed, jive talking, illiterate, in-fighting, "pop a cap in yo ass" speaking, SkiRAB and Mudflap (one of whom is voiced by a white guy obviously doing a 'black ebonic patois') is considered by some to be pretty racist in its representation and parody of urban black US culture.

The debate on that one rages on.

I went to see this at the 3:40pm showing today at Vue, with my older sister and we both thought it was good. I nearly cried halfway through the film, but I won't tell you why!! xx :)

I've seen Salvation, and daft as the end is (assume the
ad hoc heart transplant
is what you're referring to), it has nothing has a imbecilic as 90% of Transformers 2.

EDIT:
Seriously how is a vet who has learnt how to do organ replacement surgery in 5 years - implausible as that is - more stupid than dead robots in robot heaven using magic to bring someone back to life?

BTW.. This Transformers 2 FAQ had me in stitches.

Was well dissapointed with it, whilst I thought the plot in the first was thin then I'm not sure what I can say about this one..

Was a bit too long as well, but to see the Transformers on the big screen juking it out after being a massive fan of the show as a kid was still great, just not THAT great to get over the plot and sometimes clunky script.

3/5

hi mark kermode

I have to ask, if you felt this way , why bother seeing it

it's a big silly geekfest, about big robots

it has no illusions of being citizen kane;)

it is designed to be pure popcron,

i completely agree with you. i found it quite racist and the way megan fox is treated...robots humping her leg, the 'comic relief' (desperately unfunny btw) landing with his head between her legs...grosss

the first was ok but this was appalling.

:eek:You let a 5 year old watch the 1st.
I was under the impression that films had certs for a reason.
I know its up to parents to decide what their child can handle, but 5 years old.
My wife and I had to decide if we should let our 9.5 year old watch it or not. There is no way we would let him watch it at 5 years old.
