TQS HD, TVA HD, RDS HD

According to the freely available channel lineup on the Rogers website for Toronto, Ontario, the HD NFL Sunday Ticket channels are 380 and 381. No idea what was on them since I have *Choice.

I guess it is normal to assume that the RDS HD picture would be fine if TQS HD and TVA HD are not yet transmitting on that TP???

The web Site of TQS said (in french) that TQS HD will be available in october on Bell ExpressVu (channel 862).

Maybe ExpressVu will announced TVA HD, TQS HD and RDS HD at the same time.

It's not a surprise but the customer service told me that RDS HD will be available on October 3, not before, not after...when i asked for TVA HD and TQS HD they said they don't have an available date...

But i'm pretty sure Bell will launch a "french packs of 3 HD channels".

For TVA and TQS, will they be included with the basic package like SRC is for those of us who don't want the $10 HD pack?

I ask this because on the english side, CBC and CTV are included for free, but for some reason Global was placed in the extra package.

On the programming brochure, TVA HD and TQS HD are includes in the basic HD package with SRC, CTV and CBC

RDS HD is included in the theme "Le monde en fran

Hate sports, never watch RDS, so I hope they will use more bandwitdh for TVA HD and TQS HD

Maybe.
They've certainly crammed 3 HD's into 1 transponder already without using advanced techniques like 8PSK or MPEG4 to maintain quality and managed to slip it past less discerning HD aficionado's.

Hope their's not too much quality HD programming on those channels.

I call hogwash!

http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/expressvu2.html

I see 2 HD channels per transponder.

With 2 exceptions:

Transponder 6: HD PPV3, HD PPV5, HD NHL Centre Ice1
NHL Centre Ice is NOT a full time channel (far from it) so there is very little impact here.

Transponder 20: HD MC, HD MC2, HD BEV Promo Channel (829)
The HD BEV Promo Channel (829) is also found alone on Transponder 30 so perhaps they don't use the one on Transponder 20. Even if they do, I don't care because I'm in the east and get TMN, not MC.

Please show me proof that BEV carries 3 HD channels per transponder anywhere else.

Lyngsat is a constantly changing site updated by the general public I believe. Whilst today there might not be 3 HD on any transponder on Lyngsat, it does not mean that there will not be tomorrow...!

Here look at this data, it clearly shows more than 2 x HD per transponder in the past.

Doubtfull: Upconverted SD and French "Teleromans" don't really need more bandwidth; Fast moving action packed Hockey does. I'm quite certain the VAST majority of Quebecers have Montreal Canadiens hockey all the way at the top of the totem pole as far as priorities are concerned.

I get TVA on 861, but I don't see TQS.

I don't see RDS HD, Z Tele HD, Vrak.TV HD or Historia HD either, but I don't subscribe to those theme packs.

RDS HD was on the guide in magenta (not subscribed) but now it's gone.

Here you go, unreal1080p
Proof.

I don't think preliminary transponder assignment is proof yet.

I still hope BEV comes to their senses and move either TVAHD or TQSHD to transponder 29 which currently has 2 French HD channels, Series+ and Canal Vie. Putting RDS HD, a sports channel, in a 3 way HD split would be VERY ill advised and a huge mistake (fast moving sporting events + low bandwidth = pixelationrama). In any case, I guess we will see once the Channel actually launches. If it launches on a 3 way split and remains that way for more than a week, I will have to admit that BEV are idiots for putting a MAJOR Tier 1 HD channel on a 3 way split... we are not there yet.

P.S. Won't bother me one bit if they have Series+, Canal Vie and one of the other French networks on a 3 way split: these are tier 3 channels at best and most don't have access to them (I can't get either Series+ or Canal Vie and i'm betting the VAST majority of subs can't either).
