TQS HD, TVA HD, RDS HD

I have to check when I get home that I get RDS HD, looking forward to some HD Formula 1.

I have a horrible feeling that I would need to subscribe to RDS SD to get the HD feed.....

I have asked four CSR's this morning during calls and they don't even know they have RDS HD yet, so little chance of finding out how to get this channel.

Sportsfan, that is exactly what I see.

I guess I'm just wondering why I don't even see them in pink if I'm not subscribed, shouldn't they at least be listed??

The new HD PVR (black) will be the best receiver available on canadian market . Rogers and *C don't even come close to VIP 722.This will be something BEV customers will be able to brag about.
Case closed !

Only in 2008. For 2007, it's widescreen 16:9 (better then 4:3 but nowhere as good as REAL HD).

D'uh! The rules are the same for most HD channels: you have to sub to the SD version in order to get the HD version.

If you sub to NHL Center Ice they "give you" RDS "for free"...

If logic prevails, in order to get RDS HD, you either have to sub to RDS SD or sub to NHL Centre Ice. If you fall into one of those 2 categories and do not have the RDS HD channel open on October 3rd @ 7PM, I would strongly recommend calling BEV and yelling at the CSR until they give it to you ;) :D

I just got off the phone with CSR #5 and was told that "RDS HD will form part of the $10 HD Package and as such you will not pay any extra for it, when it is launched". I of course do not for one minute believe this and would expect you to be correct.

According to CSR #5 it is not yet broadcasting.....
I assume people are watching RDS HD on legitimate receivers and not FTA's.?

Maybe for women ;) :D

For men, you watch and drink beer and get drunk if they win, if they lose you get even drunker --> It's a win/win situation ;) (for Molson that is)

So with RDS HD now showing as channel 863 when can we expect TVA HD and TQS HD (861,862) to appear?

You would think they would show up in Pink but that isn't necessarily the case. I'm not sure why, but sometimes channels won't be listed at all if you don't subscribe to them. I used to have Space; when I dropped the package the channel disappeared all together from the Guide.

That may well turn out to be the case, but I find your case closed copying of my OFFICIAL supporting documentation more than a little premature.
Almost arrogant. Anyway, the decision likely isn't yours and it will be the user community that decides if it's indeed the best.
While I'm sure it holds great promise for Bev subs, 2 things;
1. It's not here yet
2. If/When it arrives, will the initial s/w quality meet expectations or will it take a while?

Bev has historically withheld s/w features already in Dish code for whatever purposes.

And I'm quite certain there is an existing thread to better discuss Bev's alleged new HD receiver for 2007.

This thread is about 3 potential new HD channels, for which my post has relevance in that we discussed HD content and the number 3 in the same context.

I've noticed that too, but TQS is listed under the free HD channels, so it should be there for everyone with an HD receiver.

It shows you don't have BEV... 844,845,846 ?!?!? There are no channels there and never have been.

881/882/883 are PPV MLB (Major League Baseball) channels... Big deal!

The way you make your post sound, it's like BEV puts 3 HD channels on the same transponder for it's core FULL TIME HD channels --> That simply is NOT the case. Your are attempting to twist the facts and it's quite crass and EXTREMELY transparent. Case closed.

P.S. I will be the first to complain if BEV starts messing around with the likes of ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, TSN, TMN, WB, PBS, HD NET, CBC, CTV, CITY. They can cram A&E, Treasure, Oasis, Rush, Equator, Global, and their Preview channel all on the same transponder for all I care.

Oh so now it is OK to put 3 HD channels together as long as they clear it with you first that they are not channels you watch....OK, that works for me.

Well that's a very misleading brochure then.
For example, it tells you that you need to subscribe to the sports themes to get TSN, Sportsnet, and RaptorsTV in HD. But it simply says "available with an HD receiver/ included in digital standard" for everything in the Free HD channels box.

It shouldn't say that if it's not true.

Baal, where does it say TQS should be free?

When I've called BEV they've always maintained only those with the SD equivalent should get the HD version.

it's on their programming brochure pdf on their website, in the "free HD channels" box.

TVAHD is the only one showing up for me. None of the others appear anywhere, red or otherwise. Guess the question is: other than the odd hockey game on RDSHD what real HD programing do the channels have (French or English) and if they do not why continue cluttering up the transponder space. Suppose they still want bragging rights until the next bird goes up?
