Top Sandwiches in the World

Thjis came up on another hroup, and while it's usually not my style of
questioning, I'm wondering if I'm missing anything good.

IMO, if I had to pick the top 5 sandwiches in the world, it would be:

BLT
Banh Mi
Croque Monsieur
Reuben
Gyro/Doner Kabob

But my opinion is subject to change depending on the mood I'm in.
Here's some other suggestions off the top of my big head.

Hamburger/cheeseburger
Shwarma
Falafel
Smorgastarta
Hot dog (or any sausage on a roll)
Panini
Chinese Pork Bun
Taco (too generic?)

American only?
------------------
Grilled Cheese
Italian Beef
Lobster Roll
PB&J
Reuben
Po Boy
Muffaletta
Philly Cheesesteak
Monte Cristo
Hoagie/Hero/Sub
Dagwood
Sloppy Joe

You find egg on a roll in New York, and my husband still calls it that.
In Manhattan, many of the corner markets cook them, and you can't beat
the price. They are fried.

A Denny's Sandwich? I haven't been to Denny's since December 13th
1999 (Santa Cruz, CA Hwy 1 at Ocean Street location. I had a reuben).
Hmm, the person I was with is may even be reading this...

Kosher deli pastrami is made from deckle, kosher style is usually not.

Katz's Deli is kosher style (not kosher), their pastrami sucks because
they use the wet cure and/or injected method, purchased from an
outside vendor. There are very few if any kosher/kosher style delis
that produce their meats on premises any more. There are very few
kosher/kosher style delis remaining, probably no more than one has
fingers and toes world wide. Kosher style is a mediocre copy. In
under twenty years neither will remain... the ingredients will be
available but not those who know the traditional methods. One of the
main reasons why this genre of deli is becoming obsolete is
price/difficulty, because their traditional food prep methods are too
costly/involved to comply with modern health codes.

Those smoke flavored potato chips work well for a BLT sans bacon; a

How many episodes of Seinfeld are we going to recite in this thread?

Can't think of a fifth. Do hamburgers count as a sandwich? Then
its medium-rare free-range hamburger on a whole wheat bun with
arugula and olive oil.

Doesn't Dagwood refer to pretty much anything and everything in the fridge
piled on bread?

However my folks used to make them specifically with bologna, cheese,
lettuce, yellow mustard, mayo, all on white bread. I still think it's great
with a glass of milk.
