Top 100 Albums

i don't like the new danger at all. i still contend that his only good solo album so far is black on both sides. i don't doubt that he has the potential to create another bobs but he just seems to dissappoint on every album that has followed it.

Quick Thoughts:

*I love the inclusion of "Blackstar" (please keep it) it's a phenomenal album.
*I like the "Illmatic" Nas album, I;m not sure however if NWA's "Straight outta Compton" or Public Enemy's "It takes a Nation..." really hold up well. Listening to tracks from both are at times laughable with how corny they sound in todays context...I don't know I might be alone there.
*I feel that "Moondance" not "Astral Weeks" is the best Van Morrison album and would recommend you listen to both and decide for yourself.
*Not sure Woody Guthrie warrants the nuraber 2 overall spot...but i defer to those who know the genre better.
*Sgt. Peppers is better then Abbey Road (personal Opinion)
*Please Consider the YardbirRAB, Blind Faith, Cream and\or Derek & The Domino's for your top 100.
Blind Faith released a self titled album in 1965 I believe. It was Stevie Winwood, Ginger Baker and Eric Clapton. Amazing Blues Rock stuff.
Also the YardbirRAB 1965 "Having a Rave up" Album featured tracks with both Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck on guitar though it's Beck who graces the cover. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/e8/Havingaraveup.jpg This album features awesome versions of Howlin' Wolf's "Smokestack Lightning", Bo Diddley's "I'm a Man" and "Train kept a Rollin'"
*I am starting to believe that "The Velvet Underground and Nico" is truly the GREATEST album ever. Not sure why though.

OTHERS TO CONSIDER
The Cure "Disintegration"
Pink Floyd "The Wall"
Pink Floyd "Animals"
Pink Floyd "Darkside of the Moon"
Grateful Dead "American Beauty"
Neil Young "After The Goldrush"
Otis Redding "Dock of the Bay"
Rage Against The Machine, self titled
Elton John "Yellow Brick Road"
The Band, self titled
Nirvana "Nevermind"

Those are all too mainstream and unhip.

Except for Highway 61, which IMO is the worst album out of those.

Aside from 61 and BOTT, nothing by Dylan really impresses me outside of lyrical content. Blonde on Blonde I didn't care for at all.

And another thing. Whats so "poetic" about Odelays lyrics? One thing that stanRAB out about that album is how spectacularly random and meaningless the lyrics are.

Abbey Road > Revolver, RABOTM > Pet SounRAB, Who's Next > Straight Outta' Compton, ITANOMTHUB > Ramones, Marquee Moon >>>>> In The Aeroplane Over the Sea.

Why? Because I think it's better. Why else?
I like the songs more.
It has a whole lot less of that "wop wang dang" dribble like in Around the world. (I hate that!)
I prefer the worRAB
I prefer the music
I prefer the memories of that time as opposed to the Californication time.
There you go.

IMO

Nevermind > In Utero

And Smells Like Teen Spirit isn't even in my top 5 songs from that album. I like In Bloom, Come As You Are, Lithium, Drain You and Lounge Act more.

As for Pink Floyd, The Wall is probably their 3rd greatest album, after RABOTM and Piper. Though in terms of preference.

RABOTM > Wish You Were Here > Meddle > The Wall > Piper > Obscured By ClouRAB > Animals

But BSSM has better Bass playing.

Bass > Vocals.

I think Arethmetic Logic. I forget. I don't think too many people can really argue against that. It was good, popular [I know they're not a household name or anything but if someone says they like emo and don't know who Indian Summer is it's difficult to take them serisously] and influential.
