Top 10 Movies of all time (tell us Why - NO LISTS)

My list:

Little Miss Sunshine - The best indie film ever made, hands down. I've already seen it three times in theaters! Abigail Breslin is adorable as Olive. She's the most real and natural child actor I've seen in a long time. She definitely has a long career ahead of her.

Freaky Friday - Disney knocked it out of the park with this enjoyable remake of the 1976 Jodie Foster film. (And just for the record, the original can't compete.) Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan have wonderful chemistry and are totally comfortable and believable in each other's role.

Addams Family - This is the best crazy, kooky movie you'll ever see. The characters are perfectly cast, especially Christina Ricci as Wednesday. Her deadpan lines are classic.

Sound of Music - I can literally watch this classic musical every day. There's not one scene in the entire film that I don't love. Even though it's three hours long, it never feels like it. It always leaves me wanting more. I guess it really is true that a good movie is never too long.

In no particular order

1. You Got Mail- I love the chemistry between Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, and this movie was just perfect for them. The storyline is just so cute and funny and I can somewhat relate to it in a way as well.

2. Sixteen Candles- I can watch this movie over and over, and Jake Ryan always has me in a daze. He is such a cutie.

3. Bridget Jones Diary- Bridget was so funny, and someone you cant help but relate to in some way. Her and Mark Darcy are so cute and so is Mark himself. Bridget's friends and Daniel crack me up.

4. Anne of Green Gables- All three of these films are great. I love the frienship between Anne/Diane, and of course the relationship of Gilbert/Anne.

5. Night of the living dead- My favorite horror/zombie movie ever. I can watch this movie over and over and it still gives me chills and I tend to quote the whole movie since I have seen it over 50 times.

6. The Cutting Edge- I love the storyline, and the two main characters Doug and Kate.

7. Clueless/10 things I hate about you- Both are a tie in my opinion. They are both witty, and I love the relationship between Kat/Patrick and Cher/Josh equally.

8. Rat Race- This movie always cracks me up every time I watch it. All the characters in a way are hilarious.

9. Cruel Intentions- Wow this movie can make me laugh one minute and cry the next. The ending is always a tear jerker.

10. Titanic- This is the only film I could stand watching for a long period of time and be glued to the storyline and the relationship between Jack and Rose.

I have so many others I want to list down but these were the top ten that came to my mind. If only we could have a top 20 list

Wow, this is really really hard.

1. American Beauty - It's quite funny, I actually just saw it in January, and it took my breath away. I really love to watch movies that bring out really strong emotions in me, and this movie probably made me feel everything from here to the moon. Kevin Spacey, in this movie, was the epitome of great acting. Even up to now, I do not find any other actor that surpasses him. And the plastic bag scene is so unimaginably memorable.

2. The Man in the Moon - I wasn't sure whether to put this as my second, but then I realized that this movie is so inconceivably amazing that it would be silly of me to not put it as my #2. Reese Witherspoon was incredible for this, much more real and genuine than I have ever seen her in any other movie, and at such a young age as well. The plot may seem a bit cliche, but when you actually sit down and watch the movie, and see how the actors all combine together to fill this movie with overwhelming passion, you realize it's anything but cliche.

3. Waking Life - Um, duh! The first time I watched this movie, it changed my view dramatically. I looked at everything so differently now; that scene with the "holy moment" was probably the most touching one of all. Every story is so different but so fascinating that it's hard to not be enraptured by it all. The visual and the soundtrack of this movie set it apart from any other movie I've ever seen, which is something hard to do with the plethora of films out there now.

4. American History X - It's been mentioned like 100+ times already, I know, but it doesn't change the fact that it's a stellar film. Edward Norton, in particular, is at the climax of acting career in this film—he couldn't have acted the part better, he MADE Derek.

5. The Motorcycle Diaries - To be honest, the first time that I watched this movie, I didn't think much of it. "Oh, it's another road trip movie with a life-altering experience." But the second time that I watched it, this time in a big theater instead of my living room tv, it really hit me. Like a giant punch in the chest, I walked out of the theater with the wind knocked out of me and a blurry sight. Perhaps it is because I think that South America is the best place on the planet (word to my roots), or because it is in Spanish that makes it so much more raw to me, but this movie was just—dizzying, drawing, enraveling, encompassing and just, overall, overwhelming. And the soundtrack? Unforgettable.

6. Friday Night Lights - You know, I never thought that a football movie would be on one of my 'Top 10' lists, but alas, here it is. If you haven't seen this movie, you just don't know how freaking amazing it is. The cinematography and the acting, ugh, do me a favor and watch it. And then watch the show that's premiering October 3rd, which I am readily anticipating. A week after watching this movie, I still talked about it everyday to every person I encountered, no joke.

7. Batman Begins - Oh, my God, um, best superhero movie thus far? Yes, if I must say so, yes yes yes. Watched it at the movies, and the next week, went to watch it again because it was so unthinkably good. And then I went on vacation for a month, and when I came back, I went to watch it again. And it currently sits next to my DVD player. Hahaha. Yes, okay, next.

8. The Pianist - It used to be my favorite movie, until I saw all the others, and then it kind of wasn't. But I can never forget it: it's incredibly touching and Adrien Brody owns my soul. The soundtrack, of course, is very prominent in this film, and very very fitting. Lovely.

9. The Hot Chick - Hahaha, okay yes, on a list of dramas comes this Rob Schneider film. But WHATEVER, it is sooooooooo funny, the first time I watched it I couldn't stop laughing. The bartender scene is freaking hilarious, gosh.

10. Speed - I couldn't pick between Million Dollary baby or this film, haha. But alas, I can never forget Keanu Reeves in this film. No, shut up, I think he is an actual ACTOR and the chemistry between him and Sandra Bullock is down right tangible in this movie. I watch it everytime it's on FX :D

And that's it. I bid adieu until I see more movies that make me change my list completely :)
