Toonzone's Top 50 Animated Show Countdown!

The fact that some people think a show is ranked too high and others think it too low is exactly why it is in that exact spot. People have such differing opinions, the point is to find an average.

#7 Spongebob Squarepants

This is my favorite modern show by far and one of my very favorites all time. The early episodes were pure gold and despite a lot of opinions, I love the later ones as well. Spongebob has great characters and great voice acting to go along with them. I don't like the stereotype some people give that it is only for young children because there are a lot of big inside jokes. I'm really glad Spongebob made the Top 10.

Whoa - Rugrats not on the list? Now that would besomething to gawk at!
The influence that Rugrats has had on me can be summed up by my everyday use of the word "peoples".

Heh, sorry.:)

I like these three - nice to see PPG and TT high up, but not too high up. Predictions for the top ten? Batman TAS, Family Guy, and The Simpsons are in there - that's my main one.

Wouldn't Scooby Doo be more like the Oscar Meyer Bologna? It's mass-produced for a long time and made without any love, so yeah.

Futurama's revival took a lot shorter than Star Trek's, for what it's worth.

Stop saying "It only looks better because it's newer"! The average Tom and Jerry short from the '50s looks way better than any episode of Futurama. Futurama similarly looks way better than any Scooby series, both old and modern. Even older Hanna-Barbera shows like Yogi Bear and Huckleberry Hound, if not as well-animated as Futurama, are certainly much better looking than Scooby Doo and they were made just as cheaply.

Love or hate Spongebob, it was a creator-driven series made by people who loved what they were doing and had freedom to do whatever they want. I think that puts it on a slightly higher artistic plane than Scooby, which was made in the lows of the "cartoons are for kids; don't make them for your own enjoyment" era.

If Scooby can be called a "classic", it's due to fame rather than quality. And this isn't a list of the most famous cartoons, it's of people's favorites.

The point here is that Scooby-Doo is enjoyed by many regardless of it's quality by technical standards. But who would compare it to Futurama anyway? They're 2 very different shows of different genres from different times. When did this become the Scooby-Doo v. Futurama thread? They're both in the Top 50 so let's just say that they're both great shows, period.

YES!! PLEASE!!! WILL EVERYONE JUST CALM DOWN!!!!!

This is getting very irritating. Scooby-Doo was ranked over a week ago, and we're still arguing about it??? Why are we comparing with Futurama anyway??? They both got incredibly high rankings, and if you think they were ranked too high - WE GET IT!!!!

I love to argue - but this is RIDICULOUS! I want to move onto the Top Four, but I don't want to have to keep dealing with this. I'm voting that The Cartoon delays any further updates until everyone takes a step back and relaxes. Or maybe make a new thread for the Top Four to relinquish this futile, drawn out argument.

And there's Spongebob.

0_0 at Dragonball Z missing out.

And since we know for a fact that W.I.T.C.H. isn't in, can you please tell me how well it did? I wonder if I was the only one who voted for it...

Hooray for KP and Daria. Ths has been a great list so far, a lot of diversity and not very predictable, at least for the most part.

Yes, let's just end this. I am going to give you guys one more chance, but the Top 3 will be delayed if this continues further. Out of every cartoon ever created, 14th and 5th best all time are incredible.

#4 Family Guy

Surprise, surprise. I had originally expected this to be in the Top 2. So people can stop worrying about it winning now. I do watch it now and then even though I never thought I'd enjoy it. The writing is great and they have been able to maintain original ideas throughout the shows life.

Glad to see Teen Titans up so high! Would've liked to see it on the top ten, but oh well...

My predictions? In no particular order...

The Simpsons
South Park
Futurama
Family Guy
Avatar: The Last Airbender
Batman: The Animated Series
Justice League/Unlimited
Dragonball Z
X-Men: The Animated Series
W.I.T.C.H. (still holding out hope)
