What won Best Animation in a Movie?

I don't get how Cinderella 3 or Devil May Cry got their awards, and I would have liked to see Persepolis get something, but other than that, I can't complain.

Fixed.

Don't know about how Devil May Cry won myself, but from what I've heard, Cinderella 3 was a Dsney DTV done right, but I really did not expect it to top Bender's Big Score; the internet is just too full of Futurama fans for it to lose.

That's why I wanted to have the members of the Review Crew help with another section of voting, to get a fair critics opinion, yet since not one member has seen enough of the nominees to judge, that idea was a flat-out bust. I got 1 set of votes from a reviewer, but that's just not good at all.

Anywhere. Because I just don't understand why it's well liked. I didn't like it when I first saw it and I still don't like the film.

What didn't you like about it? Granted, it's a bit overrated (the movie doesn't have the strongest characters), but it's beautiful to look at and the script can be pretty powerful and/or funny at times.

It just didn't click with me. I was like "Okay, talking rat who likes to cook. What's the big deal about it?"

And the CGI, it was nothing new for me. I just wish CGI animated films would just somehow avoid being sterotyped by Pixar and other companies and just be used to carter to teens and adults for the more edgy stuff.

What? So you want it to fit one stereotype instead of another? And how is Pixar stereotyping CGI anyway? They make amazing films and they've been branching out quite a bit lately. The Incredibles and Ratatouille were big diversions from their typical formula; Wall-E, Up, and 1906 look even more risky and unique.

Thing is, I feel that CGI animated films should be used more than to make family films. I mean, why not carter to teens and adults. No, I don't mean on Pixar's level. I'm talking about like I don't know, Final Fantasy level.

Nothing wrong with that, but I don't think you should try to stop amazing family films from being made just so you can get adult films of uncertain quality made.

The Pixar films are what make money. There's nothing wrong with a good family film, which is what all the Pixar films are. Most of them are even better than that.

I'd like CGI films to get away from the talking animal stuff too, but dragging Pixar into this is just silly. It's stuff like Shrek that's dragging these films down. Ratatouille was a film that was created not just for kids, but also had a message that adults could appreciate. That's probably why a lot of younger people don't get it. They're missing the directors message.

Either way, your argument doesn't hold water, especially with the examples your using.

Anyway. Moving on...

I just can't see how Spongebob won for comedy. That show hasn't known comedy for years (3 years or so). Chowder beats anything current SB has. Where did the voting take place, anyway? I didn't notice it.

It's been on my sig for the past few weeks. Not too hard to miss, really.

I'd say that most of the movie awards were well-deserved, even though I haven't seen Persepolis(although I read the books and loved them), but I honestly did not expect SpongeBob to win. Nothing against the show, but I could of sworn that if Ed didn't win, Chowder or The Boondocks would of taken Best Comedy, and Best Director was definitely Antonucci's award.

The fact that he lost by only 1 vote and the Best Coemdy award was voted on the most proves that someone must have a vendetta on Ed, Edd, n' Eddy. Kidding. :p Or am I...
