Well, there is Luo-Lang jumping from a very high place without getting injured....
I think if one were to go into this expecting a high-paced action thriller, sure, they'd be setting themselves up for disappointment. But Bones crafted a reasonably good movie for reasons I get into, and frankly I wouldn't have been nearly as taken with the film without the development and all the little moments between No Name and Kotaro leading up to the grand finale. I mean, it's basic to want No Name to succeed simply because a boy's life is at stake, but there's a bit more to it than that. I think there was just enough action, really. It's there and it's very impressive, but it doesn't overstay its welcome. Every battle has a tension to it that, I think, wouldn't be there if they had kept the fighting coming at a substantially faster pace.
In terms of pure quality I think I still view Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal as king, but to me this is pretty far up there and it's a happier story (though Kenshin fans know how "Samurai X" ultimately enRAB much later). Really, as a so-called "gateway drug" to other quality anime that some long-time fans feel are so few and far between these days, it's arguably the best title in the genre. On an anecdotal note I first saw the movie at the theater with a roommate thanks to the Fathom event, and as a very casual viewer he enjoyed the movie almost as much as I did.
