I've been looking forward to this set for a while, and I'm planning to go out and buy it today. These are all the Peanuts specials I wanted on DVD-- the early ones with the original cast. I might not buy any more Peanuts specials after this set, except for maybe the motocross one (which is already out). I already have the Easter Beagle one, which I mainly got because I remember seeing it a lot as a kid.
I already had the Christmas, Hallowe'en and "You're in Love" specials on the single DVDs, but I don't mind buying them again considering that this set barely costs more than one of those individual discs, and I'm getting three specials I either haven't seen, or barely remember (in the case of "Short Summer").
Regarding the statement about some of them being less substantial, I'll wait and see before I comment on the new-to-DVD ones, but I enjoyed "You're in Love Charlie Brown." At the same time, I can see why one would say that it's a bit lightweight, and that the pacing is sort of iffy. It was fun to watch it, but it did sort of feel like a series of barely-related little skits-- Peppermint Patty setting up the meeting, Charlie Brown being late for school, etc. At least there was some overarching story, which is more than I can say for some of the later specials.
