Yes. The steelbooks were DVNRd from 35mm masters, as opposed to the 16mm masters of the TV show. Which means a considerably less amount of fine detail is lost, if any at all. Also, the movies were created for a 16:9 aspect ratio, so the crop is appropriate.
Most of the remastered movies look great. They have vibrant colors and crisp visuals. But it's not consistently great. Some are better than others. Movie 8 is very washed out and bright, for example. Although, to my understanding, that one was done first.
