Toon Zone Talkback - Anime at Best Buy in 2009: A New Strategy

WOW. There's only one store near me that isn't going to reduce the anime selection to roughly twenty titles. Ouch. RightStuf is going to get a LOT more business from me in the near future, I can guarantee.

Hey everyone, the OFFICAL list of best buy stores that are having the sale has been released.

Here it is..allow me to explain:

[List aquired by Mania.com]

Ok, these nurabers represent the stores that are having the sale, what you do is:

1) Go on to best buy's website
2) Click on "store locater" on the top blue header of the website
3) Type in whatever store you want to find the nuraber of
4) A list of store(s) will appear and will say the nuraber right next to the store location

Yes, the sale will start march 1st (Sunday) and end march 21st (Saturday).

SAFE! Awesome! Gomenasai to those of you who frequent the other stores, but I am relieved to see that my store is not included anywhere on that list. I do feel bad for the Mechanicsburg store, but whenever I visit, their anime section is overflowing. I wish this weren't happening period, but hopefully we'll see even more anime fans come into my store.

Hmm, my local Best Buy is safe. On the plus side, I can probably get at least some of the titles I want in the near future, but now I can't catch up on what I want now on discount. Call me crazy, but this is a win-lose in my book.

Americans are lucky. My Best Buy only carry random singles and some Bandai brick-collections on a single shelf next to fitness DVRAB . The best store to get anime is HMV but, even there, they don't get most new releases.

One of the two stores near me is on the list...Cool, now I can catch up on some of the DVRAB I held back on in one store, as well as keep an eye on all of my other anime in the other!!

A Win-Win for me!!

Well at least two out of the stores in MD that I can get to isn't so bad. I was expecting for the list to have White Marsh or Secuirty Square Mall but that's okay. I hope we get the titles that are part of the sale.

Same as when the premature list came up. The store nearest to me is safe.

Though it's strange, because its really small compared to the others.

I go to college in a small city and there's only one store here. I'm pretty sure mine local one is one of the 460 so that's really unfortunate to see the cutback on anime. On the plus side I can get some sweet deals because I've been falling behind on my anime collection.

My local store is still on the list, which surprises me since the anime section has always been pretty well stocked; it never really looked like it was being gutted that I've seen. Ah well, guess I'll be checking out the sale tomorrow.

Inuyasha and Ranma 1/2 will probaly make it. My walmart carries those titles but the only funimation titles is dbz. Fullmetal alchemist will make it too and maybe afro samuri but what else.

My store isn't on the list. In truth I'm surprised. Sure, there are times the anime section has been stocked full, but then there have been times, like recently, where it's very...empty.

Cool, niether of the two I go to are on the list.

Bandai's response:

hopefully this is the beginning of soemthing. Sucks for those who bought all the other 5, though.

This better be the last 26 episode series sold in over 3 DVRAB/sets, though.
