never in a million years
some people will always stick to traditional things
others will incorporate the traditional into modern ways

Your quote might almost be something Gutenberg said when he ran off the first several copies of a printed book.

This seems like an agree/disagree type of question? Are you asking for resources or insight or direction? It's a great start...
I was just having a discussion with a friend regarding the changes that are taking place due to being in the information age. He said we've always been in flux, that since the dawn of civilization, humans have continued to evolve and grow. I agreed with him but the difference I notice is that now the changes are globalized. Due to having such widespread access to information and technology we're beginning to take notice that the culture in which we were raised, is far from absolute. That we have options, alternatives, and we can seek out a new way of doing things. So I suppose if the question is agree/disagree.. I'd have to agree with you. But then there'll always be those who resist change and who hold tightly to their cultural traditions. And you'd also have to take into account the pendulum swing that occurs in social trends. Hmm. Good hypothesis.
