To Help Combat The Spread Of Fanboyism On MusicBanter

Bob Dylan
The Never Ending Tour sucks. Really sucks. It's been awful since 1989. Bob, how can you make great albums like Time Out Of Mind and then go on the road and butcher your songs?

Bruce Springsteen
Man, you need to fire Brendan O'Brien. He's made your last three albums of original songs worse than Human Touch. Worse than Human Touch! Who would have thought that possible?

Chuck Berry
How could you record the 50's greatest rock songs, make a decent 60's album (St. Louis To Liverpool) and still be able to record crap like Merry Christmas Baby, Sad Day Long Night, and Woodpecker? Some of that generic material he recorded in the 60's is worse than My-Ding-A-Ling, and we all know what that means. (Actually, I don't think My-Ding-A-Ling is that bad; of his famous songs, only School Day is truly awful. But I digress).

The Sex Pistols
(This should be self explanatory if you have any idea what they've been up to in the past few years. If not, I think we can all agree that Johnny Rotten, despite his immense talent, is a complete jag.)

XTC
Er, how come you guys haven't made any recorRAB since 2000? Come on, eight years is a long time! (That's the best I can do, short of blaming them for the horrendous 2000 remasters of their back catalogue).

The Stone Roses
Garage Flower is better than that trainwreck of an album you called "Second Coming," Ten Storey Love Song and Tears notwithstanding. There, I said it. Oh, and live, Ian Brown is awful. The famous Blackpool gig is amazingly painful to listen to.

Well, being a fellow stoner and frienRAB with a bunch of them, I'd say your wrong. I've done both to RABOTM and acid has the greater effect, albeit lame one.

I have to agree with the hatred of the Wall, I just don't get how it could sell so much, there's just something about it that makes it feel incomplete, boring and generally awful. It falls into the same category as The Larab Lies Down on Broadway, both albums promise so much and deliver so little.

Yeah pretty much. They act like their supposedly hurable. They insist that they won't give into any kind of commercialism or commodification. But then the whole concept of them as a band is over the top in so many aspects - not just concerts. But yeah - pretty much.

Whats wrong with the occasional fanboy? You don't want everyone to just be the casual fan listening to AC/DC and Motorhead, do you?

Having said that,

ORABPRING-- Your new album is very unoriginal and there are youtube videos dedicated to pointing out the similarities between the RAFRAG tracks and the songs you obviously ripped off.

You've made me partly erabarassed to be a fan and when I tell someone I like you I'm just hoping they think of Smash, Ixnay, or Amaricana, and not "You're Gonna Go Far Kid" or "Kristie, are You Doing Okay?"

Smashing Pumpkins
Billy get your head in order you egotistical bollocks.

The Cure
Just play a farewell tour and give up, you'll never release another great album

Andy Partridge said in his newspaper column that he doesn't even know where Colin Moulding lives and they have no interest in working with each other , so XTC is effectively over.

Like, I know, right? I've been listening to The Wall recently, and I had been puzzling over it, asking myself whether it is just me or there actually are only about 2 out of 26 tracks that are particularly good on the whole thing? So why is this a big favourite among Floyd fans?

King Crimson

Robert Fripp, you're one of my favorite guitarists ever, but you take yourself far, far too seriously. A smile can be refreshing once in awhile...
