TNA Wrestling on Bravo (Part 3)

Have heard from sky that a new channel is coming early next year (around feb 2011) called SKY ATLANTIC and it is HD. It will mainly be showing new HBO programmes and old shows that aren't tied to contacts for other channels (ie Dexter & True Blood on FX). This channel is basically showing alot of american shows and would be perfect for TNA (in HD as well).

Looks like it will be american shows on this channel only and alot of decent stuff like The Pacific, the Wire, etc. They are in talks with other studios for content to go on this channel. SounRAB like a replacement for the one channel and bravo.

I think the change really will be about getting away from the fakeness of wrestling and just letting them go at it. It has never been done in wrestling before and all those people who switched to MMA because it was real, maybe they would come back to wrestling.
 
Yeah, I'm thinking thats why there is a live episode, to make it up to the fans for there not being a impact this week, Least the PPVs this week so it isn't so bad.
 
Heartbeat had a loyal following like any other show, there was no were left for the show to go and with spending cuts it was an easy choice as it it filmed on location and not in a studio which running costs would be less
 
I know what you mean - i've felt like i'm on my way out with wrestling for a long time now. I suppose the fact that i've been a fan since Wrestlemania 3 has really been the only thing that's kept me hanging on. And I did the whole 9 yarRAB as well - I used to write for a wrestling newsletter and I was part of the play-by-mail wrestling scene for a couple of years (and had one of the most well known stables as well..). Even won a trophy for the PBM wrestling stuff.

Ahh those were the days :)

You do know that FX is short for FOX, which is News International - the owners of BSkyB, who own Sky, don't you? ;)

i caught a short part of it actually - caught the end of the segment with bischoff & co in the ring opposite nash and sting, then the follow up with dixie, and dixie in the office with hogan and bischoff.

actually quite liked it - dixie is a surprisingly good actress. she made hogan look as wooden as he's always been.

not to say i'll start tuning in to impact from now on because i probably won't, but what i saw wasn't too bad ..



so the ratings won't improved because you got bored huh? :D
 
Sky could start showing TNA if they wanted because WWE neeRAB them - it's f**ked in this country without it.However,Sky get's it value for money so it probably wouldn't rock the boat.Likewise,putting it on the more available Sky3 would no doubt irk McMahon and co.

Actually,didn't Sky Sports used to show NWA/WCW in the early 90's?

TNA will find a home,even if it's Extreme Sports but the future doesn't look bright for them at this moment.Still,TNA is a relatively cheap import which attracts at least 100,000 viewers,in theory it should be targeted by every channel from ITV to Five USA.It's a shame all these weakened channels look down their noses at wrestling - the more low brow than ever ITV network should remember how valuable it was to them.
 
Pretty much sums up my frustrations right now.

I'm still wishing we were at least at the level TNA was at a few months before the Jan 4th "revolution." X Division, strong Knockouts Divison and of course 6 sides. It was all much more exciting.

Now it's just about 15 portly, aging men attempting to put a few matches together and cutting some tedious promos.

Flair is the only one i'd like to see stay.
 
Five US shows a lot of imports and any of the channels in the lower end of the tv guide would be great for them. Also with the connections with Five US and channel 5 maybe they could do what Bravo wasn't willing to do and that is do some live UK shows. Channel 5 is no stranger to showing live sport. It gets a good rating every week. There is a UK tour next year which will probably sell out. TNA is a good thing for any satelite company to have.
 
TNA would be completely mental to pay top dollar for him, he's a total trainwreck, I'd put him in the same category as Scott Hall and Jake Roberts at this point.
 
ahaha if you were a typicla internet wrestling fan you would have been complaining about

"wwf excessive use of profanity and vulgar gestures to get a brawler over on TV"

or complaining about "silly catchprases and goofy segments that turn a wrestling show into a stand up comedy night"

glad to see you are someone who can see pro wrestling for what should be.
 
TNA "close to" signing a super-heavyweight:

PWInsider.com is reporting that TNA has either signed or is very close to signing former WWE Womens and Divas Champion Mickie James. James recently polled her fans on Facebook and Twitter asking if she should join TNA and most of them said yes.
