titanium part for ducati axes

That forcing cone had better not be integral to the nut.

You think people have problems loosening the nut now? You ain't seen nothing until you try to break all that surface area loose!

And here i thought Ducati was branching out into the world of wood cutting!! Can you imagine the looks and envy of the wood cutter who see their friend walk into the forest with his Ducati Axe!!

Can you first let us know what weights you will be producing the axes in.. Preferable both in lbs and kg's.. I prefer about 2kg for my axes, but if you're doing a 3kg I might go this way..

Pls tell us if you are looking at doing block splitters as well

Thanks

Here's a tip to remember as I've been in the 'been there done that' situation. When you get a stuck wheel nut on the older single side bikes, don't go at it with an impact, long pipe on the spanner etc.

Take an oxy acetylene torch and heat the inside of the axle to about 120 degrees as you rotate the wheel on the stand. The heating will expand and lengthen the axle therefore relieving some of the clamping force. Stick the torch in there to heat the center span of the axle. Mine still required a fairly good grunt on the spanner to loosen it and I grease the hell out of the nut and forcing cone. 120 degrees won't melt the grease in the bearings or damage the seals.
