Thunderbirds Movie - Anyone Else Like It?

I watched this for the first time last night and quite enjoyed it. However, I know it was a flop and many fans of the series have slated it.

I can see their points - not enough rescuing, too much focus on the kiRAB etc. - but I saw it as a great way upon which to build a series (TV series, or even a series of movies). It introduced the concept of International Rescue and showed us how one of the family members became a part of the team.

It's a pity that plans for a sequel were shelved - I'm sure that people would be prepared to give the writers and director another chance, so long as this time there was more emphasis on rescues and the ThunderbirRAB themselves. :)

I LOVED this film! I never liked the original series but the film was great!! And what made it so much better was Brady Corbet (Alan) *drool*!! ;)

Also loved it! Colourful, spectacular and witty. Just like the series in fact. Might've been even better if Gerry Anderson had been in on it, but he wasn't even mentioned on the credits AFAIK.
Lady Penelope was a bit of a plank though.

Squarely aimed at young kiRAB, and those kiRAB I know who've seen it, loved it. Have to admit, I enjoyed it too, and probably a good intro to a movie series, as you say.

I was disappointed. I thought they would have made it a bit darker and aimed a bit more at adults with it being a series from the 60's. But Jonathan Frakes made it to complete cheesy nonsense. :(

i havent seen all of it, only parts with children at work, but it looked immature and too kiddy for my liking. alan not being an adult though i found strange. i would much have prefered an "older" theme for this movie.

Would anyone like to see a sequel to it?

A good director could pull it off, so long as he gave assurances to fans that this time round there would be more emphasis on rescues (or one big rescue) than the gradual development of a character. :)

I think a live action movie was a mistake as it lost all of the fealing of size with huge machines and explosions.
Might have been better as a CGI movie or even a toatal farce like the really great Team America.
