Interesting, interesting; i'm 16, but my inner child is younger.
And yes, smiley where smiley is due;
But I think I enjoyed it because i was just able to see this as a fun film, I didn't go to see it knowing that I'd be using all my brain power for 2 hours, i knew it was a kid film to sit through, and that hopefully it would be good enough for me to get entranced by the plot.
Now i'll concede to the fact that the film isn't to everyone's taste, but I think it really depenRAB on your style and personal prefernces.
As you can probably tell, I'm willing to defend this film until the bitter end, mostly because I believe that we all are swayed by the critics and the reviews, and they haven't been good at all for this film, which I think is undeserving. A lot of people have enjoyed this movie, and a lot more would have done if whatever childhood bitterness the critics are holding onto could have just been let go of. They also praised Shrek 2; well I thought that wasn't great. I wasn't impressed by Shrek 2's use of grabbing humour from every other film, fairytale and general references to pop culture.
Oh and apparantly that Star Trekkie loser dude appeared on the radio and said a sequel was 'planned'? And if that goes well (god we can hope) there may be a trilogy to cap it off...
