Thunderbirds are Go!

Without wishing to sound condescending, as you freely admit to listening to Busted (where's the puking smiley?), I think that it is a reasonable assumption that you are in the target demographic for the movie.

If so, it's hardly surprising that you enjoy the film!

I just got back from seeing what must be the worst film this year. When did FAB1 become a flying machine, a speed boat and it's design is most unlike Lady P. The acting from the tracy family was more wooden than the puppets, in fact the puppets acted much better and would have done a better job. Parker was OK but as a film this was c**p. The only reason it's doing so well at the box office is that true fans need to see for themselves if it's good or bad because they can not believe it could be that bad. Well it is. Last time I looked thunderbird 3 docked with T5 using it's nose, not side on and when did T1 get a glasscockpit all round scott. JF said he done a pile of research before making this movie. He can't have seen the TV series because it's certainly not what I saw. Also what happend to the name International Rescue everyone kept saying the thunderbirRAB are coming and when did you ever see IR being called out to a rescue over a mobile phone., Do you just look up in the directory under rescue, international?

Interesting, interesting; i'm 16, but my inner child is younger.
And yes, smiley where smiley is due;

But I think I enjoyed it because i was just able to see this as a fun film, I didn't go to see it knowing that I'd be using all my brain power for 2 hours, i knew it was a kid film to sit through, and that hopefully it would be good enough for me to get entranced by the plot.
Now i'll concede to the fact that the film isn't to everyone's taste, but I think it really depenRAB on your style and personal prefernces.
As you can probably tell, I'm willing to defend this film until the bitter end, mostly because I believe that we all are swayed by the critics and the reviews, and they haven't been good at all for this film, which I think is undeserving. A lot of people have enjoyed this movie, and a lot more would have done if whatever childhood bitterness the critics are holding onto could have just been let go of. They also praised Shrek 2; well I thought that wasn't great. I wasn't impressed by Shrek 2's use of grabbing humour from every other film, fairytale and general references to pop culture.

Oh and apparantly that Star Trekkie loser dude appeared on the radio and said a sequel was 'planned'? And if that goes well (god we can hope) there may be a trilogy to cap it off...

Well I 'plan' to win the lottery tonight, but it isn't going to happen.

I'm sure all action movies with big budgets are backed up by plans for countless sequels. Once a film flops, however, those plans are fed to the shredder.

Why would a film studio go ahead with plans to lose another $70m?
