I purchased a 6141 at the local Bell store last week ($199) and asked that they install it for me (roof + snow = let someone else do it). Left the receiver, in the Bell Store bag next to the entertainment unit in the basement where the thing was to be installed.
The installer was scheduled for 1st thing this morning (8 AM), I had work to do plus also had renovators doing final touch-ups on a project.
Bell fellow showed up on time but I generally left him alone to do his thing. An hour or so later he's finishing up, I sign the paperwork and carry on. There is an opened 6141 box left by the TV. He had moved the entertainment unit out to do all the connections.
Ten minutes ago (12 hours later) I head into the basement to go move the entertainment unit back closer to the wall.
I see the Bell store bag where I left it. The 6141 I purchased a week ago still in the bag, untouched. The technician would have had to run the cable right behind the bag.
I'm an honest chap, and so I won't be keeping a 6141 I did not pay for, and I look forward (not) to dealing with Bell to sort this out.
Either going to be extremely easy, or so frustrating and painful that I might end up contemplating just keeping the thing in the end.
We shall see.
